I've rewatched it twice and Leon put on a MMA clinic. He got caught in the 5th sleeping and, contrary to those who believe Diaz "didn't go for the finish," Leon showed great recovery and poise in that bad situation. Diaz jumped on him as fast as he could considering his fatigue/suprise/respect for Leon's counter striking.

Leon is literally as well rounded as a guy can be and had Usman panic wrestling years ago. Usman will forget the hands and dive at Leon's legs in the rematch that will happen after Usman beats Colby again. Usman probably beats Leon with his wrestling advantage, but Leon is a gift to you MF'rs and if you ever want to learn to fight just study his style.

This version of Leon might actually beat Usman. As crazy as that sounds, Usman was intimidated when they were exchanging and I think Usman knows that Leon is a serious threat. No one mentions Leons name for a reason and it has everything to do with marketing. It is not smart to take the Leon fight. He is too good and doesn't have enough clout on his name.

It was half a round away from being a perfect dominating performance against a durable guy hard to finish whos obituaries where about to be written
And ends up being a vision of him wobbling all over the place, Nate is a gangster again and people ignoring the previous 20 plus minutes . MMA crazy like that and Leons career in a nutshell.

I like both fighters a lot, but Usman did not "panic wrestle" in the first fight, he hit Leon 126 times to Leon's 36.. Took him down 6 times! And comfortably won every round.. I'd expect him to beat Leon again.

Champions shouldnt be allowed to maneuver who they face based on clout....IMO... being champion means you fight whos the best available always and prove your still the king of the mountain thats what made Chuck liddell, anderson silva...matt hughes...GSP , Randy couture such great champions and fighters they didnt take who was best for " the gram" numbers they wanted to simply be the best...and you only become the best by beating the best..

Usman should of not taken the colby fight and fought leon instead if your as good as you say you are you shouldnt waste your time fighting people you fought and beat already when you have a worthy adversary in the wings

These champions arent built like they use to be, its also why izzy will be held to higher standard then the rest when its over cuz he fights nothing but the msot worthy regardless of hype...he makes the hype.. and knows who deserves and doesnt...great champion...so was/is max Holloway

Leon did smoke Diaz yes. But I didn’t find anything about the whole performance impressive.

Very skilled guy but he did something similar in a three round fight with Gunnar. He seems to be missing something. He faded in that one too after looking good early.

Both Colby and Usman beat him easily so he is not getting that belt.

He should fight Masvidal. I don't really care for him, but I would like to see him finally get back at Masvidal and school him in a real fight and get his revenge
