Perfect fight for each woman to showcase that the deficiencies which got them knocked out in their prior fight has been fixed.

In Yans case, not getting taken down, or if she is taken down demonstrating she can get back to her feet.

For Ribas, the chance to fight a good striker that can put her through the ringer, but has not flashed knockout power.

This also gives Yan the chance to fight one of the more well known fighters in her division, ensuring the fans know who she is; thus making the UFC less inclined to pass her over for opportunities she has earned as they did in the past. Unfortunately her rise coincided with Wei Leis reign as champion so her dominance has been somewhat overshadowed.

UFC obviously sees potential in Ribas (very marketable) it's in their best interest to build her a little slower for the time being. Don't forget they tried to book her vs Angela Hill repeatedly who would've possibly been an easy rebound win.
