Jairzinho being an expert counter striker

If he know learns to proper block punches with smaller gloves and doesnt rely on his head movement and his chin, he well be a force

Sadly counterstriking heavyweights often look like someone not throwing at all

Rozenstruick vs Overeem was ugly til the miracoulus KO. Roze vs Gane was just downright embarrassing

Even Ngannou vs Derrick Lewis was a sad fight because both are more-so counter strikers than instigators of the heavy exchanges

yes I can’t believe Francis didn’t throw low kick in beast fight he didn’t in 1st stipe fight but in the 2nd fight and almost all his other fights that was big key to win he massacred stipe legs even head kicked him

Counter striking expert?
Didn't he get tagged by a gorilla coming in swangin' and bangin'?
If he was truly good he would've dipped, threw a rear overhand, and angle out.

A quick but insightful look at his amazing technical skills

His hands are so dangerous like Derrick Lewis. Francis had to shorten his punches up and not worry about home runs to beat Stipe. Seems like when heavy punchers just learn to shorten it up and counter or land that punch it wobbles them and then they throw that home run punch.

You dont want a heavy hitter waiting for a you punch me then I punch you style. You want them to always have their feet off balance or moving to try and hit you or over swinging to try and land. However, Like the latter George Foreman, he would telegraph his punches which are easy to dodge but he was trading a punch for a punch. He would block punches very well so his feet were planted well enough. People like this can shorten their punches up and just land them. But preserving their energy by blocking and only throwing at the right moments works real well and makes it dangerous when the other fighters is spending all that energy trying to avoid the heavy hitter.

Francis didn't look like a man looking to counter. He looked like a man in a fixed fight.

Obviously it wasn't a fixed fight so i'll just take him for his word when he says he was in a fucked mental state, because that was #2 weirdest perfomance i've ever seen. Second only to BJ tip toeing vs Edgar.

Only explanation I’ve heard is that Ngannou was just horribly afraid of getting tired after knowing how much it sucks to gas out against Stipe. And he just played the Yoel Romero conserve all the energy strategy way too far

Stipe loss was Ngannous only loss. Some guys, even great ones, don’t handle a loss well and I think he might be one of them

you shut your whore mouth you fresh ban, and witness what was some of the cleanest counter striking ever in ufc hw history versus an unstoppable fucking juggernaut of a man in ngannou

and every shot lands on the button too, now if they fought without a cage in an endless arena he would've ko'd ngannou

How many miles of Ngannu swinging do you think they would have gone on for if there was no cage?
