Young, handsome guy like Edmen gets fed to a top contender who is also a horrible stylistic matchup for him. We Dogs could’ve made better fights than these matchmakers lolol

Is it though? Jack was on a slide lately so this could've been a 'changing of the guard' type of fight had Edmen won and they would've swapped places in the rankings. It's a high risk/high reward fight, would you rather they let him crush some cans and build a sus record (aka the Conor and Sean O'malley matchmaking) only to get crushed later by a real fighter?

He's been training grappling since he's a teenager. He just isn't that good and is another guy hyped up because of the pretender series

Edmen is 23 years old losing to top 7-8 guys in the world. At 24 years old Jack Hermansson was in Bellator losing to guys like Daniel Vizcaya and Jason Butcher. Little early to tell what he is.

Shahbazyan dominated rd1 and rd2 was competitive. But yes terrible matchmaking.

They want to dissociate themselves far from boxing and not build their contenders, like they do. Even WWE stars get tough opponents in the ufc.

Y’all motherfuckers out here exaggerating. The fight was competitive.

I thought he grappled with Jack pretty well until the 3rd round. I actually think it was a great learning experience. He did well but made some mistakes. He survived some brutal GNP, avoided a few subs, and survived to the final bell. He for sure won the first round and arguably the second also (I thought Jack won but not decisively). He won't face too many better top control grapplers and he should be better equipped for future opponents of this sort.

I thought one of his biggest problems was still cardio just like in the Brunson fight. It was competitive till Jack turned it up a notch and Edmen wilted under the pressure.

TBH if you can't beat Hermansson you maybe don't deserve the hype.

Edmen can't grapple.

The UFC is horrible at developing talent. It’s sink or swim, which is fine for top level talent but the shark pit will ruin a young fighter. It will crush their confidence and change the course of their career.

Danyelle Wolf was supposed to be on this card. Former Olympic boxer who’s had exactly one mma fight with no amateur experience. She immediately gets matched up against Felicia Spencer, a much more experienced fighter who’s been in there with both Cyborg and Nunes and was Invicta champ, as well as a horrible style match up. If that fight went ahead, she would have lost for sure and would shake her confidence, possibly changing the course of her career.

The UFC is investing in develop talent: the contender series, ultimate fighter, Shanghai institute and they are letting go of veterans in favour of contender graduates, but then the match making throws them to the wolves. They need to make up their mind.
