Should UFC be trying to sign Patricio Freire?

Dude is a killer and a finisher.

31-4 record, with 3 of those losses by decision, two of them split decisions. The fourth loss by leg injury from a checked kick, so the guy has never really been finished.

He’s a two time Bellator FW champ, current LW champ and he starched Michael Chandler in a minute flat.

Not sure what his contract situation is, but he’s been a top dog for a while, I’m surprised there isn’t more talk of him testing the waters in UFC.

I don't see why not. Would add depth to the already solid LW division, and would give some life to a FW division in need of new blood. Would be fun to see him against the likes of Volk.

He's one of their homegrown stars and champ so Bellator will pay to keep him. They also have champion clauses in their contract that would make things hard.

Volk made $280k for his first title fight with Max. He wasn't champ so no PPV points. The rematch he made $390k and as champ would get a PPV cut. That apparently sold 1.3M PPV buys so likely a sizeable payday for Volk.

Pitbull is 1 year older than Volk and being locked in with Bellator makes the match up unlikely to happen anytime soon if ever. Would be a great fight.

You got a source on the ppv numbers for that? Wouldn't that have made it one of the bigger PPV events the UFC put on all year?
