  • 1st Round - Wear him down. Pick him up, put him down on the ground. Make him get into wrestling scrambles, play to Hooker's cardio.
  • 2nd Round and 3rd Round - Put it to Hooker more on the feet and look for the knockout.
  • Questions Dan Hooker's power. Hooker didn't hurt Poirier the way conor or MJ did. Really interestied in seeing how Dan Hooker reacts being on his back

Has anyone seen a betting line on this fight? While there are some questions about Chandler’s chin and durability at this point in his career, I’m leaning towards him grinding Hooker out.
I'm not a betting man so I wouldn't know but I think its his fight to win if he plays it safe and makes it a boring fight. Idk if he can help himself and do that. We'll see.

I went and found it. Hooker is a slight favorite at -170 to Chandler at around +150.

I suppose I don’t have a big issue with that; I can see why Hooker would be slightly favored. It’s Chandler’s chin that I question a bit, but I agree with you—he should able to execute a safe, and boring, wrestling gameplan and win this one.

Same. I question his chin as well. He's been in some wars. But I question his mentality as well. He's a brawler. Brawlers like to get into wars. Its what makes them feel safe. He's also on a conor card in front of a massive audience. Does he feel the pressure to go for the knockout to try to win fans over and ends up getting KO'ed because of it? Or does he stay disciplined and try to fight a boring fight? I say that I don't think he's going to be able to help himself. Brawlers brawl.

I'm a fan of Chandler's style and he's a great guy out of the cage, doing many awesome things for underprivileged children. He's taken a tough fight here and I respect him for it, but this is going to be a war of attrition and I think Hooker is made for these three round fights.

Mike is a glass cannon. Guy hits hard as hell but can get turned off quickly. He might be surprised by the talent differential in the UFC if he can't get Hooker out of there, who has a great chin and is incredibly tough. He better game plan. Chandler might be in trouble here.

It’s a tough call. I think Chandler needs to come in at his best and with improved cardio to win this. Hooker is not an easy debut fight for him at all.

I think Chandler's gonna make a statement here.. He's been in just as deep of water as Dan if not deeper, has more power and can wrestle. Just not a good matchup on paper if you look at it that way.

when was the last time the chandler guy fought??? can he have some ring rust??? ik he came frome bellator, but hes stepping up now and hes just been talking. imagine his 1st ufc fight being a snooze fest or him getting koed in 1st round. any hype he has now would be over fast
