Fights where fighter's got outskilled?

My father believes the tougher guy always wins. And I'm trying to show him it's about skill

You’re both correct. There’s plenty of examples of a fighter simply out-toughing another fighter. That’s the beauty of MMA; so many different ways to win.
 
I'm going to take a shot at guessing the intention of the OP's question, and assume we're talking about two similar opponents where one was outskilled "at their own game".

Mousasi vs MacDonald for me is the best example. They both looked pretty much the same kind of fighter, except Mousasi was just better at everything in every way.

A fan of both fighters, but it was kind of hard to watch MacDonald in that situation. At least it wasn't against a fighter I hate I suppose.
