I don't really like this ESPN nodel since I have horrible streaming and I wouldn't waste money buying a subscription plus PPVs.

I think the FOX + PPV was good.

Do mean best deal for making money for the company?

Or best deal for fan enjoyment?
Should've rephrased it. For fan enjoyment.

As far as for UFC, I don't really know if the ESPN deal is all that great since it alienates viewers and piles on payments. It gets costly and it seems the sales went down because of it.

Mark Hunt

They were willing to pay him a shitload for literally zero return. Instead they paid him a shitload and got one hell of a return, even considering his litigation against the company.

great response

and truly a bizarre series of events lol

Fight Pass is the best thing they offer. They should do away with PPVs, dead business model in my opinion, way too expensive for the average young guy which should be their target demographic.

What ever deal they have with Buffalo Wild Wings that has them show UFC PPVs at there restaurants every month.

Fans get to watch PPVs for free while hanging out at the bar

Ngl I greatly enjoyed Askren's run, watching him get ko'd into oblivion by Masvidal then strangled by Maia was just great.

I dont think so.. Apparently he was hell to deal with. Someone like Cowboy on the other hand would fight whenever, whoever and his base pay at the highest was only 1/4 of Hunts despite setting numerous promotional records.

It's hard to feel sorry for a .500 fighter who was making 800k per fight. That's a fuck ton more than what some of the good fighters make. He's pissed he got the fight of a lifetime in Brock and he lost. He was talking about how he was gonna beat Lesnar who was on PEDs. Boo hoo Mark.

You're both missing the point. They had to pay him a shitload of money no matter what. They could have paid him a ton of money and had nothing to show for it, which would've been a bad deal. Instead they paid him a shitload of money and got a number of very entertaining fights out of him, which is a much better deal than getting no fights out of him.

Purchasing Pride. Nothing else is really close.

i came in to post this. i would say buying pride was the worst deal for the fans because they completely got rid of it instead of keeping it to put on events in that format. i always thought the format with the ring, music, and excitement was a lot more entertaining than UFC even tho i will admit for a pure sport aspect the cage is better.

Instead of being happy to make 800k per fight and get a huge fight with freakin Brock Lesnar at UFC 200 he's now acting like a sore loser and keeps taking UFC to court.

Purchasing StrikeForce too. UFC got a lot of good fighters out of that deal. Some people don't realize StrikeForce was a profitable org and potentially a challenge to the UFC.
