I'm not Convinced Moraes's chin is gone. Font has power.

Rob is a finisher with his hands. Only like 3 people in the entire UFC BW division have more finishes than him. I'm not convinced that just because Moraes got finished by him after eating heavy shots means his chin is done.

A lot of people are saying Moraes' chin is gone because he got stunned by a step in power jab from a guy with probably the best jab in the division, but they ignore that he was hurt even before that.

This right hand on the temple was the beginning of the end for Marlon. It was after this shot messed up his equilibrium that the jab really started to make him lose his footing.

And this uppercut directly on the chin probably drops everyone at 135lbs, compromised chin or not.

That said, If someone made the argument that Marlon's heart/confidence is gone, I'd fully agree. He's a good hammer but horrible nail.

I think the cut might be getting too much for Moraes. I know he consistently makes weight, but the percentage of water weight he cuts is very high. Combine that with being stopped recently too against a power puncher and its not a good recipe.

Yes. He definitely needs to take some time off and regroup. I'm not sure if that move to ATT helped him any either. He looks mentally weak these days.

I was really impressed by Font's Hands. Marlon has had some issues and I understand we need to see more of Rob's game v top 5, but based on what he showed us here, I think his boxing is certainly capable of wreaking havoc in the upper echelons of the division.

He's 32, is it maybe time for him to move up? He seems pretty bulky for 135 at 5ft 6in.

I agree, sometimes before the fight he has a drained look his face before it even starts. His body isn't getting back in shape over the 24 hours.

Even when he grabbed the neck early he let go very quick to not gas himself.

His best days are likely behind him, but a shot at FW might not be a bad idea. Not much to lose at this point

Seemed like not long ago I thought Marlon was on his way to the strap, and would've favored him over anyone. The Cejudo fight really changed shit I think.

Marlon is still dangerous as fuck and can hopefully put it back together, but he's definitely gotta make some changes.

Moraes is gone mentally. That guy wilts the second the fight gets tough now. Cejudo broke him mentally. He isn't the same guy. His eyes never rolled back tonight. He got hurt and then just basically stopped defending. When he was on his back and hurt he just watched Font throw punches at home and basically quit.

I'm not trying to take anything away from Font. That win was spectacular. I just think that fight was more about Marlon than it was about Font.

Didn’t he just get tkod by sandhagen not too long ago. He didn’t take enough time off

I think he felt mentally defeated after he won a decision vs Aldo, and Dana said the judges got it wrong, and gave marlons shot to Aldo instead.

No such thing as a "gone" chin

Both things are true.

Rob Font was being underrated by lots of folks, and Marlon is a softer target these days.

It should go without saying that the cumulative shots Moraes absorbed puts down 85% of bantamweights. Usually the most elite guys also have elite chins (and its hard to get to the very top without it) and I think those days are over for Moraes.

Age, mileage, coming off multiple stoppages and what has got to be a ridiculous weight cut working against Marlon.

On the flip side, Font was absolutely brilliant. The guy has moments in the Octagon where you can see he has elite qualities, this may very well be his arrival to the deep end of the division. His fight IQ and technique was stunning, what a beautiful fight to watch.

I don't think his chin is gone really. I just think that once he takes a good shot that stuns him, his defense goes to shit and he just keeps taking shots.
And I definitely think that he seems to break when a lot of adversity comes his way and he can't just go tit-for-tat.

Font also looked great.
