When’s the last time you cared about flyweight?

I’m doing some introspection and trying to figure out why I never really cared about Demetrius Johnson but I really really like Fig. And Brandon Moreno for that matter. What is the difference? Maybe it’s because Fig is just more violent? More KO power? But then why do I like Moreno as well? Maybe I like his grit and aggression?

I can’t figure it out, but I’m suddenly tuned in to flyweight for the first time ever. As in, I actually care what happens In that division.

I mean, I would still watch DJ, but I just didn’t find the fights exciting regardless of how dominant or flashy the wins were. I always felt that his opponents were overmatched....and they were. So there just wasn’t the excitement of DJ maybe losing his title.

then when the king of cringe barely won the title, I was somewhat entertained, but then he moved up in weight so I stopped caring about flyweight again. Now I actually care about flw and hope to see Figgy really make a lasting mark on the division.

help me understand myself sherbros. What do I care? And when’s the last time you cared?
 
I was caring a little bit about the division when MM was the champion at that time
 
I watch all divisions and multiple orgs.

I use to ignore anything that wasn't 170+ (below I considered Toy Divisions) but have grown to enjoy all aspects.

It's odd to me that people say Flyweights are too small but nothing is ever said about Bantamweights. It's a ten pound difference, it really isn't that much.
 
I’ve never not cared about it but at one point it was a little stale because Mighty Mouse was head and shoulders above everyone else
Now if we could have Mighty Mouse , Tripple C & Fig all dueling for the title it could really be something
 
Depends on the who the fighter is and how they fight. It's not about their size.
Can't understand how anyone, that isn't insecure, hates on fighters for their size.

exactly. I’ve never cared about the size. I cared about the quality of fights. Knowing that one fighter was just going to dominate everyone with ease just sucked the joy out of watching Mighty Mouse for me. I think Fig is just more violent. So is Moreno. So I’m suddenly interested.
 
I've liked it ever since horiguci made his ufc debut and I've been gutted ever since he left the ufc. Glad to see that you've come around to appreciating the little guys. It's just about finding fighters you like to root for, regardless of weight, and I guess you found that with Figgy
 
It never was about size (how dumb would that be?), it was that MM was boring and refused to face TJ.

I started following FLW when Cejudo become champ. Now with Fig it's good too. Glad mighty mouse is gone
