Some of these fighters, I'd argue the majority of them would get bodied if they fought at their natural weight class. Tony for example walks around 200You don't HAVE to cut weight, it is possible to fight at your natural weight class, you may give up some advantages you would stand to gain against smaller people. But you can just choose to NOT cut weight.

Let's be real, Tony is like 175 lean max. Hence why he fights at 155 (water cuts and then rehydrates 15-25 pounds like most fighters). If you are 175 lean stop dieting for a few months, weigh yourself in clothes and after a full day of eating and you will be "walking around at 200 pounds" but in shape morning weight and he's more 170-180 which is why he fights at 155.
Yeah, but I think there's something to be said about guys who do fight in their natural weight class. They might be smaller or weaker, but the stamina advantage is massive. Look at Buckley- Comes in at 182, completely jacked, and still has the stamina to throw bombs all fight. Some of these fighters, I'd argue the majority of them would get bodied if they fought at their natural weight class. Ouch that is insane but we always see Tony so lean we have never saw him that fatSome of these fighters, I'd argue the majority of them would get bodied if they fought at their natural weight class. Tony for example walks around 200
I'm glad I'm not a fighter. Weight cutting sucks.
Yeah there are definitely benefits to cutting less or not cutting but at the end of the day it's not safe to give up 10-20 lbs against high level comps. Frankie did great despite his disadvantage but he took a lot of punishment because of it and often fell short because of it.Yeah, but I think there's something to be said about guys who do fight in their natural weight class. I also heard about something about cutting less weight means more fluid surrounding your brain, which supposedly makes you harder to concuss. Frankie stands as the best example of that.
You've obviously never cut weight before.Khabib uses IV to recover! Otherwise, he would not have been able to recover from such a weight loss!
If Khabib fought at WW, he'd be facing guys who are natural LHWsYou don't HAVE to cut weight, it is possible to fight at your natural weight class, you may give up some advantages you would stand to gain against smaller people. But you can just choose to NOT cut weight.
But how many people weigh *exactly* 155 (or 170 or 185 etc) pounds? You'd have to cut some weight probably. If you weigh 172 pounds and fight at 170, you still need to cut 2 pounds. You don't HAVE to cut weight, it is possible to fight at your natural weight class, you may give up some advantages you would stand to gain against smaller people. That was hard to watch but weight cut comes with the territory. Hardest training camp of his career and finishes Gaethje inside 2 rounds. You can never break this man inside the Octogon.
True. Khabib walks around 190 out of camp, Tony 190-200 it of camp. I wonder what's both their walk around weight "in season"
Edit: I forgot khabib said around 183lbs
