It seems women can get money far in excess of their WMMA earnings via Instagram posts and via Only Fans. Semi attractive WMMA fighters gain followers fast once they reach the UFC. Then, no doubt see this new money as their ‘worth’ and want big money from Dana.

Question is... will Dana soon start signing only unattractive WMMA fighters to avoid this shit???

I mean he can always fold the divisions if he wants too. There will never be another Ronda sadly for the UFC....
 
The UFC is looking for attractive women that can fight, end of story. If your attractive and semi-coordinated, like Ostovich, then you get a chance. If a girl isn't attractive then she better be able to fight. I dislike everything about WMMA and have voiced that many times but I have no problem with WMMA fighters luring dummies, I mean fans, via IG or whatever. The mere fact that WMMA still exists means that my opinion must be in the minority with respect to the value of WMMA, so be it.
 
It already is. It was obvious with Page. She was asking for more money than her .500 record was worth simply because she was getting paid lots off of IG. Her head wasnt in the game any more. Once that happens a fighter isnt going to push tjemselves. Instead they fight to protect what they have ie not take real chances.

Same as what happemed to Roger Heurta for the men with the movies and modeling. And Couture as well.

yeah then it'll just be the real athletes who actually care about being the best and not their 15 minutes of fame

No way never. Theyll sign who ever is the next big thing regardless of her looks as long as she wants to be in the UFC.
They know fans dont want to see conventionally unattractive women fight. Cyborg amd Nunes are two of the greatest fighters ever and look at the numbers they do. The UFC wants the PVZ's, Ronda's, Miesha's. Pretty girls are where the truly huge numbers lie.

i don't think Dana has the power he used to have.

the Fertittas let him do whatever he wanted but i think the new management has more control but as president and face of the company its his job to make it seem like its all his ideas

and the new management doesn't care about the sport just money so they'll keep hiring hot chicks and probably skip over a lot of real athletes

RE Dana and WMMA, he's close to a really good place. He can present Nunes as 'the best ever', and you don't get much of an argument. And she's easy enough on the eyes. Shevchenko .... he wishes he had a hundred of her. And 115 is an actual competitive division, where some of the losses make you cringe. Namajunes being slammed on her hear. JJ after Weili was done with her. Hell compare JJ vs Weili to Adesanya vs Romero ....

UFC was damn lucky they got that WMMA fight, given the snoozefest we got in the main. WMMA is good fifteen years behind MMMA, but it's developing. Next step, get Kayla Harrison. You're gonna need a dominant champ at 135 when Nunes rides off into the sunset.
 
So they'll make more by not fighting so they don't take up roster in the UFC? Sounds awesome if you ask me.
