With Khabib retiring it's starting to look like we have no dominant champs right now. Am I wrong? Adesanya seems closest but he had a close fight with Martin not that long ago and him fight with Yoel didn't prove his dominance by any means. I'm only looking at male divisions but who's dominant here?
Stipe - Clearly not, he's old and lost like 3 fights ago and Ngannou is looming
Blachowicz - Only champ because Jones left
Adesanya - Again he's the closest thing imo but only 2 title defenses so let's see him fight a few more times
Usman - He's kind of close but he's 33 at WW, that isn't good. He also only has 2 title defenses including a war with Covington. No way he makes it to 5 defense imo.
LW - Vacant
Volkanovski - He hasn't lost in years. He beat Max twice but I think he needs to fight a few more defenses before you can say he's dominant. I think he's just a bad match up for Max more than anything and he's 32 at FW so I can't see it lasting.
Yan - Only champ because Cejudo retired and he's coming back. Sterling is tough too.
Figueiredo - Didn't have to fight DJ or Cejudo to be flyweight champ. He's old for the division and lost to Formiga last year. He's fun but I don't see a dominant run.
Am I wrong? Are a lot more of these guys going to go on GSP, Aldo, Silva like runs?
