Personally I think the above media members' votes don't change anything and the UFC just ranks fighters however they want them to be ranked.

There was a pic of that happening where ufc employees gave their suggestion for where the fighter should be ranked after that fight. ‘Fighter x won but lost two fights before so keep sane position’ or something like that. Can’t remember what card that thread was created after.

Pretty much. Rankings are only most legit in seasonal team sports. Start the season off no points, You get x points for a win, no points for a loss and tally it up round by round..

Also, the UFC used to let you look at individual media members' rankings. But they removed that feature for some reason, and have thus removed transparency. UFC rankings were never especially legitimate, but they got even less legitimate after that.

I grew up in Murphy, NC. Tiny ass hick town, 2 hours from any major city. The scout is their only newspaper, and there's maybe 10,000 people in the whole damn County.

Yeah once you look into it you realize how completely BS it is. I wonder what the responses would be if you asked those places how their UFC ranking process works. I bet at least some of them would say something similar to "what are you talking about?".
