Khabib beating 38 year old GSP is irrelevant compared to beating Usman.

Georges hasn’t been relevant since Hendricks retired him in 2013. Beating a champion in his prime like Usman who is undefeated in the ufc is far more legacy building for Khabib.

He knows gsp will be drained and weak at 155, plus his cardio looked very weak in his one fight during the usada era.

Basically Khabib is trying to go the easiest route of adding a “big name” to his resume instead of jumping up a weight class to challenge Usman. A bit disappointing that khabib fanboys are eating this potential fight up.

Or he could just completely destroy the best division in mma

If he beats Tony and Justin he needs to challenge for the belt at 170.

If he does that and defends at 170 while remaining undefeated hes arguably GOAT.

Khabib is trying to cherry pick a drained GSP, won't even make it fair and meet in the middle 165.

Current GSP would still beat Usman , let alone Prime GSP.

Nobody considers Usman a bigger win than GSP, even if GSP is old.

I understand why Khabib wont fight GSP at 170. Hes bigger and heavier, but wants to cut weight.

He is really that concerned about being smaller than his opponent. His style kind of relies on being bigger and stronger.

This is why ill never consider khabib the goat, hes constantly killing himself to fight smaller guys, like Conor did early in his career.

Youre taking advantage of a weight cut system. It may be legal but Im going to take it in to consideration when looking at your all time status.

Hes only fought one guy bigger than him in the UFC, and he arguably lost.

No champ HAS to move up.. If he beats Tony and Justin there's nobody left so why not George's?

Why on earth would Khabib move up a weight class to fight someone who isn't popular or a draw? It's like, take a huge risk when you could fight much bigger names at your own weight class. It makes absolutely no sense unless they get the fight at 165. But I doubt Usman can make 165.

Georges hasn’t been relevant since Hendricks... except for that time he won the MW title via glorious finish. Something your beloved Silva couldn't do.

That’s not true. Usman is one of the most boring fighters ever.
Just because he’s a current champion does t mean he’s the best win khabib could
Get.

I don’t know if you guys have seen a lot of Usman fights but a lot of guys on here pretend he has all of this punching power and he’s unbeatable.

But he has a lot of holes and hasn’t fought a lot of good fighters to test him.

Had some good wins against older smaller guys.
The Woodley fight was good but Woodley isn’t focused solely on fighting.
He’s doing tv. Movies. Recording shitty albums.
Woodley isn’t all in mma anymore and it showed in their fight.

Gsp isn’t old and washed up. He sat out and won the mw title.

He’s always training and saying a win over Usman is better than gsp is just absurd.

Gsp is an established legend. Usman is just the current champion no title defense.
For all we know Usman could be a .500 fighter from here on out.

Anderson silva has nothing to do with the thread topic. But in case you missed it Anderson won the MW belt and defended it 11 times instead of vacating and running away from his toughest challenger.

they all doing it. 90% of the fighters should move up a weight class. that puts khabib exactly with same talent pool hes fighting now.

why would he fight bigger guys? to please you?

hes fighting guys his own size. hes not really bigger than anyone hes fighting. the weight cutting system as it is now is about the same as it would be if there is no weight cutting.

ppl arent cutting weight cause they want to. its cause they have to. if you dont do it everyone else would.

Don't care if Khabib fights Usman. Interested in seeing Khabib vs GSP for GOAT legacy fight. /thread

I want to see him fight Gregor Gillespie if he gets past Tony and Justin. Gregor is arguably a better MMA wrestler than Khabib.

GSP name means something. Usman could go on to become a legend, though not likely.

As for GSP not doing anything; stopping Bisping to win the belt was impressive, irregardless of what spin you want to put on it ...

True, especially if it is at any weight other than 170.
