LA Confidential has always been a favourite of mine, it has excellent re-watch value. It reminds me of another classic The Day of the Jackal (original) in the sense that (1) it was always being shown on TV weekends, seemingly always Sundays, starting late like 10-11, and (2) despite the fact it's a long film, the excellent pacing meant in never felt long and I always ended up finishing the film however tired i was despite having seen it 5/6x already. which always seemed a pretty good litmus test

Die Hard is a Christmas Movie! Everyone knows that!

A lot of movies here that I don't think of as cop movies necessarily but they are sure amazing movies.

I'll go with: End of Watch (2012)

End of watch was pretty realistic for LAPD and LBPD here. What wasn't realistic was if the cartel wanted those cops greenlit or dead they would both have died way way sooner and shot many more times. Folks don't realize how much cartel we have in L.A county and san Bernardino county especially with the marijuana black market now due to crazy taxes on dispensaries. If I was a cop in the film and the cartel green lit me I would be in an FBI witness protection next day 😂

Colors is still a favourite of mine after all these years.

Same. I really liked the series as well
I used to watch the series as a kid on broadcast tv reruns at my grandparents house(CRT and rabbit ears), I have it on my list of things to rewatch. The They Call Me Mister Tibbs sequel and The Organization were ok but not up to the level of the original, Poitier was a superb actor but I think Stieger and him together made a really great film

Missing: Cobra, Police Academy, Tango & Cash, Red Heat, The Corrupter
