What games do you guys recommend? I just got a 3DS XL. Only game I have so far is Pokemon Omega Ruby. Ruby was actually the last Pokemon game I've played. Was going to buy the one with new Pokemon but the Pokemon looked retarded. I'll definitely be picking up Bravely Default, the Persona dungeon crawler, the SMT game, and the new Monster Hunter.

Someone said Fantasy Life was good. I bought it a few months ago and I didn't care for it at all.

I haven't touched my DS in quite a while. There really weren't any knock me down awesome games. Smash was good, Animal Crossing Mario 3D land, Monster Hunter...they're all good games IMO but nothing with some serious longevity and the kind of gameplay that I like.

But I'm weird when it comes to picking games so eh

Bravely Default is great. If you like it pick up the sequel Bravely Second which is just as good. Some other suggestions:

Pokémon X or Y
Ocarina of Time 3D
Majora's Mask 3D
Link Between Worlds
Radiant Historia (DS game)

The new Kirby game is solid.

You seem to be into JRPGS so I'm going to highly recommend this new game I just purchased.

Xenoblade Chronicles also looks pretty good. Think I'm going to pick that up. Didn't know the SD card in the 3DSXL is only 4gb. Ordered a new one today. Hopefully it gets here soon so I can buy more games. (I hate physical copies)

Zelda: LBW
Bravely Default
Mario Kart 7
Shovel Knight
3D Mario World

I've played most of the games mentioned every time it's brought up, and I would say that the absolute must plays are Zelda: LBW and Fire Emblem: Awakening

I'm not a Zelda fan either, I am usually pissing everyone off by shitting on it on here. But that game is really good

I bought a 3DS XL about a year ago, and have bought a half dozen games. I'd say about 95% of my time playing has been on Mario Kart 7.

I'm pretty sure Xenoblade Chronicles only works with the NEW version of the 3ds XL. The new version of the 3DS XL is less rounded on the outside (more flat on top like a waffle maker), doesn't appear to have that speaker hole next to the 2 external camera lenses (maybe somewhere else like inside), has an extra (gray) button thingy upper left to the 4 on the right. Also needs a screwdriver to take out the SD card. But it is more powerful.

I was going to get Xenoblade Chronicles too, but my 3ds XL is the classic one.

I wasnt aware there were 2 different types of 3DSXLs. This is the one I have:

Thats the old one?

Edit: Just looked it up. I think this is the new one.

Yeah if it has that extra gray (button?dirction toggle?) thingy NW of the YXBA buttons, it's the new version and that's the easiest way to tell. Looks like the "ON" button, stylus port (and game-cartridge port possibly?) have migrated on the side edge nearest the player/user, too, while the speaker hole has moved to the inside, next to the internal camera (facing the player), but the extra gray dealy is the clearest giveaway

I had the original 3ds but sold it mint. Had less than 2 hrs game play in it but had it for 3 yrs and didn't use it. Sold it with Zelda Pokémon for $150. Sidebar system just didn't have the time. Anybody think it's time to buy a new one? Did they ever released the original Pokémon red/blue in 3d?

Yup, thats the new model.

I have the same, and remember a few people that were pissed they just bought the standard XL model and an improved version was released half a year afterward.

my kids have got 3DS and there is literally no new games coming out, or the schedule is extremely scarce

they need to get these new pokemon games out ASAP to bring some life to the console again

i think my lads play the pokemon games, my daughter plays animal crossing and i do a little bit of Zelda from time to time

The Link game was absolutely awesome

I'm not sure what you mean by that last sentence. Are you asking if they remade Red and Blue in 3D or released Red and Blue on the 3DS?

In any case the latter is true. Back in February they released the original Red and Blue on the 3DS virtual console. You can even trade locally with friends through wifi.

Look up Ever Oasis. It's a new 3DS coming out in 2017 which looks really good.
