If Cejudo avenges his loss against Benavidez, will he be the flyweight GOAT?

He'll have a similar career with GSP if he remains undefeated but a long way to go until then. For now, will he surpass DJ if he wins against Joseph Benavidez?

I can't see why he would be, given that he is 1-1 against DJ (with his win being a split), and then would be 1-1 with Joe B. Henry is an excellent fighter but there's a big difference in resume between him and DJ to be made up.

Fkin hell
Every card, someone becomes the goat or potential goat...

NO
DJ is flyweight goat by a country mile, he's also in discussion as out and out goat.
Gtfoh

The in discussion out and out goat just got shown the fuck up for ducking a guy Cejudo finished in 1 round. GTFOH with MM being in any overall GOAT conversation.

Would be a better argument if he can defend it just a few more times, but yes why not.

No, because it's obvious Cejudo's fighting skills have exponentially grown since then.

No. He's 1-1 with DJ, some consider him 0-2.

A good start is beating Benavidez.

he didnt duck him, he wanted more money. How you gonna be a goat over a guy who is the longest champ, you are 1-1 against him and your win was super close while he destroyed you just cause you beat a guy he didnt fight

Cejudo vs. Benevitez proves nothing at this point. Cejudo needs to move up to 135 and fight for the Bantamweight belt.

The rest of the flyweight division may be toast.

Lol
He's in the discussion buddy, get over it.

With his past achievements and beating Demetrious who was already a top 3 Goat plus now stopping TJ he deserves to be mentioned as a Goat. I'm curious as to what will happen with the Flyweight division but if he does end up avenging the Benavidez loss it will make his Goat claim even stronger. If he goes to 135 and beats TJ again then it's undeniable

No. DJ has had 11 consecutive title defenses.

Cejudo meanwhile has only had 8 UFC wins in total, with double losses as early as 2016.
Even if he's grown a lot in his four wins since the last loss, that's still just 4 compared to 11.

Definitely

Especially since most ppl know he really won the first Benavidez fight.

Henry is on his way to gaot statues

So one specific action (or inaction) negates all this?

Not taking anything away from Cejudo, but I think MM would win a rematch.

He's got a long way to go to equal DJ. He lost both fights, imo.

thats like people saying conor or max are above aldo at 145, lol

hell no. he has a single title defense and has already lost twice in the ufc. amazing back to back wins here over dj and tj, but even if he beats tj again and beats benavidez i would still rank him behind johnson.

and i was never that high on demetrious to begin with, but he still has earned the respect

It's amazing how one can go from the longest title defense streak in the UFC (11) to being considered as overthrown instantly as soon as another guy gets his first defense.

Even if you think DJ's opponents were shit, and a win over TJ is better than all of them, you must consider longevity when naming the GOAT.
Two title wins in a short time can never trump 11 title fights over many years.
Edith: Actually, 12 title wins

Also consider that Cejudo's record looks good cause he beat a long reigning flyweight champ, something DJ himself obviously didn't get the chance to do.
A lot of DJ's record is bashed cause he only faced contenders, because there weren't a lot of former champs around to beat (as there was in other divisions)
