Social 3 White Boys Held Down Black Girl & Cut Off Her Dreads *UPDATE* She made it up

Here's my post from the other thread before the girl admitted to making up the story.

This sounds an awful lot like every story that turns out to have a shitload of information missing that changes the story entirely. The article made sure to mention that Mike Pence's wife teaches there part-time for some reason, and that they don't believe in transgender kids, but no word at all on anyone else's version of the story and there is a gofundme up for it. Might be true, and the kids should be punished if it is, but this stinks of another fake story.

I'm batting .1000 here calling these hate crime hoaxes and spoiler: I have no psychic powers.

What these should do is serve as a correction method and an indicator that the society these people are told they live in is so horrifically inaccurate that these over the top horse shit stories are what they come up with when they try to make up what they think is a plausible story.

I don't believe it. Clearly some people did something.

It's hard to believe you people still believe anything that comes out of the media. You've been posting for 3 years straight about how fake and bad it is. Yet you still believe in it somehow.
Not upset because we believe it, upset they report on such bs with due diligence. And instead of apologizing they back peddle or forget it altogether.

I’m pretty sure you chimed in on that story. If not my bad
Wouldn't be surprised if I did but that doesn't mean I recall it off the top of my head. If it happened in Canuckistan then of course its not going to occupy much space in my memory.

I believe if a child really concocted this on her own. She should be court ordered into psychiatric counseling. And the parents be investigated as well.

the point is not that it didn't happen, but that it COULD happen!

The journalism involved in the made up stories is what annoys me the most.

A 6th Grader makes up a story, and every media headline treated it like fact. They didn’t even bother to use the word “allegedly” much less seek anything to corroborate the story. They got the story they wanted and ran with it without spending more that 2 seconds looking into it.

It is stuff like this that reinforces the idea that you really can’t believe a thing the media prints, they are all just partisans at this point.

The possibility to use it to somehow attack Mike and Karen Pence was too big a temptation, even if most suspected it was bullshit. At worst, they just retract the story when it's exposed as a hoax, which could be days or weeks or even months. Rinse and repeat.

How long until this thread gets merged or dumped?

Her hair was actually cut so I'm betting that it got cut in some innocuous way, like maybe she was dared to do it, and then didn't want to the real story and instead made up the one we heard. Not unlike how in cases where you see false rape accusations its because the women fabricates the story to cover up for infidelity.

I pondered what her motivation was because I find it especially heinous that a lie someone tells can get other people in trouble. Something like this, a racist attack on a black youth by three white youths, are treated the same way many rape allegations are treated. It tends to be guilty until proven innocent, with the story receiving next to no coverage if somebody is found innocent. Sometimes, being found innocent does not always erase the damage does to the accused's life.

These hate crime hoaxes that continuously come out of the woodwork are deeply concerning, and say a lot about how irresponsible the media is. But the real tragedy that comes out of these, are current and future victims or hate crimes that are REAL. They are less likely to be believed because of people like this girl.

Saddest thing is if you check the comments on these tweets, they are full of black people saying she was intimidated into saying she made it up and they still believe her. As I have said many times, there is nothing you can possibly do to reason with such people. Same people who argued it wasn't Mike Brown in that robbery video after even his family admitted it was.

When it comes to today's media. There is no "if". You're guilty until proven innocent, then after your life's ruined (which now includes your family) they say they may have made a mistake on page 37.

I don't recall that one but okay.

It was pretty big up here. Even Trudeau weighed in on it with his usual phony sanctimony, before the facts came out. Facts came out...silence.

I'm shocked that this story turned out to be less than correct.

This truly proves, once and for all, that violence based on racism does not -and has not- ever been a situation in the world. Great job, guys.

Trudeau and all the usual suspects like the Premier and Toronto mayor. And then afterwards said people should forgive the girl and essentially be happy that she brought attention to the real problem of hate and discrimination people like her are facing.
