I'm turning 24 tomorrow. Now people say this is supposed to be the prime of life, but I'm already starting to feel the first signs of waning youth. I'm sure that sounds ridiculous to some of you older users but to put it another way, I'm realizing I need to get my priorities straight so things can start falling into place by the time I turn 30.

My questions to you all is: at 24 what were your goals? What had you already achieved and what would you recommend concerning lifestyle?

I'm back and forth on whether or not to work like slave or try and enjoy my 20s for the next 3 or so years. Thoughts?

At 24? Getting as high as possible as often as possible.

I'm probably not the best person to ask....

At 24 years old I was only 1 year into my first engineering job and I was still partying really hard. I think there are different strokes for different folks and you should not take recommendations from people on how to live or behave, but instead create your own path.

Live your life and then spend your 30s regretting it like a normal person.

You're still a pup - enjoy yourself.

BUT start saving your money. Put away $50, or $100 away once a week. You'll hardly notice it at the time, but by the time you're 30 you'll have saved a tiny fortune for your future.

I wish I did this but I started at 28, but it's never too late.

You can still party and have fun, just make sure you try to start saving.

I would say, a large part of life is balance

As a man, you want to work on two things. Career (job exp, qualifications, skills) and social life (women, marriage)

Work on finding out WHAT you want and then go for it. Also, have the freedom to change your mind. Make informed decisions based on WISDOM.

I'm 31 now. I don't have any major regrets ... I remember feeling deeply depressed/borderline suicidal when I was 27, but that feels like ages ago now.

I'm in a good place now and I chalk all of my mistakes up to "accruing wisdom" ... Wisdom that I can pass down to my kids/younger people.

A lot of life is trial and error, wisdom building. Don't be scared to take action and learn from it.

According to experts your brain still will not be fully developed for another year...

Congrats.

Started going downhill at 25 checking in.

Man I don't know what the fuck I was doing when I was 24. I'd say start building on something, anything, like a craft, a skill or whatever. Do some research and invest a little bit here and there.

But also live your life. One of the biggest regrets I have is not having more fun when I was younger.

If you are feeling first signs of waning you are probably sick or have terrible genetics

I do the opposite of saving money, I spend every dime on what I love doing. I don't know how long I will be able to continue my career as a race car driver. I am single, and when I eventually settle down I will not be able to spend all my time and money on racing. I don't want to regret not doing what I love for the rest of my life.

At 24 I bought my first house , but I also had a kid that I had full and sole custody of . luckily my parents werea tremendous help so I still got to do 24 year old stuff.

The house turned out to be one of the best decisions I've made . I bought it with little down , and It's been rented for probably 10 or thr 13 years ive owned it. I've got tons of equity in it now for what has amounted to very little outlay , time really works in your favor here. You should be investing as much as you can now , however little it is.

TLDR

Have fun now , but start positioning yourself now for the future. It'll get here before you know it

<{chips}>goals ? so much shit can change, have some savings incase some shit goes bad way down the line, never ever refuse an invitation to go ball deep, even if your friends make fun of you because she's a bona fide butterface or a chubster.
