College 2024 Football Discussion *** Ohio St National Champions ***

Also I thought the Rose was always on ABC back then but this was is on NBC.
Espn abc owns almost all the bowls or their rights now....I think the sun bowl and one other are the last holdouts

I want to say that the 1991 Washington team (Emtman and Bill Joe Hobart) was the when ABC took over the Rose bowl with Keith Jackson and Bob Griese calling the game. I'm going from memory.

The NIL era is wild. QB's like Beck and Ewers can be MID as fuck, have their draft stock completely plummet, and still go grab a bag for several million dollars from another college team and probably still get drafted anyway next year as a 4th+ round pick even if they're MID again next season. Guys will be multimillionaires before they even get a chance to wash out of the NFL.

I feel like there's gonna be a lot of big high school prospects that bank off the idea of getting bags in college and not even trying to shoot for the NFL in the coming years.

I'm still glad NIL is happening though, cause fuck these corporate billionaire fucks, these billions aren't made without the players, so players should some money too, but this shit is still weird.

NIL is fine, star players have been paid for decades (unless you're a naive mark who believes otherwise).
The problem is the portal.

I honestly wish Texas vs. OSU was tonight. I would prefer one of two outcomes.

1) Notre Dame vs. Ohio State

Or

2) Texas vs. Penn State
