Not really. Every team used to have a month off, which lead to a bunch of funky games. ND played 2 weeks ago. Time to get healthy while staying in game shape. If they keep it like this, not having the bye will be beneficial.

If they move the wild card up to a week after the conference championship game that could be a game changer.
