first they lie about how incoherent fetterman is/was... then they downplay the fact that he will continue to recover and get better... and then they say he faked the stroke to manipulate an election.

priceless!!
Story goes that Fetterman was at a commie pot party discussing election strategy and how he could ever beat Oz and the dj played
And that’s when they got the idea to have a fake stroke and go for the symp vote.

I kinda wanted to see lake win just to see the disaster it would have been

As if what the majority "wants" has ever really mattered.

If the core policy preferences of the highest importance to me revolve around agriculture, energy, guns, industrial regulation and taxation (they damn well do) for reasons that touch on my community, culture, heritage, finances, investments, interests, identity and lifestyle in multiple ways then I am far-right.

The majority of Americans would seem to disagree with me on those issues and they will get what they want by default of electing Democrats because we have seen them take action and implement policy wherever and whenever they have the political power to do so, most notably with the supermajority California Compliant platform and template.

And then on the otherhand, what do these Full Retard Republicans do? Go all in on abortion, culture wars, conspiracy theories, cult of personality, evangelical christianity and election fraud. They are so fucking shit that "socially conservative" minorities would gladly take 40-year-high inflation and have drag queens with their dicks out dancing on classroom table tops rather than put a Republican in office.

bunker boy has been such a failure in 2022 that he just doomed rick scott

Why is this dude always taking shots at people's spouses in public? It's cowardly as fuck and pure slimeball. I see people crying about Mitch not funding Trump's candidates, why the fuck didn't he fund them himself? Mitch isn't going to get into a war of words in the media. He isn't going to get up on stage and slap someone at the Republican National Convention. He puts the knife in and guts you quietly.

Dang. I knew this was the best midterm’s for a presidents party since 2002, and that was likely due to a wave of patriotism still active from the 9/11 attacks, did not realize this was an even bigger shower than that and nearly a century since it occurred

Not since Roosevelt and the Great Depression. Damn. That’s how out of touch with reality the GOP was here in 2022. Scare tactics and dunce candidates have their limits, and we found them.

uhh, yeah but only by like 0.5% in many cases.

breath easy for now...

As sad as the actual event depicted in the gif is, and as someone married to a Japanese person it's kind of heart-wrenching, I love that gif and I'm definitely going to use it myself, should the right occasion arise.

On topic, great result. I still put the chance that Trump's big announcement tomorrow will be that he will not run in 2024 at somewhere between 25 and 50%, so I'm open to a friendly wager if anyone is interested.

I doubt that's the problem. They call places like Hungary ‘illiberal democracies’ for vote-shaping yet everything they do is the same just for their prefered goal.

Really makes you think.

Whatever the problem, it certainly isn't helped by losing state legislatures. You can't draw congressional districts without control of them and that is one of three primary tools for how Republicans have managed to stay competitive in the existing political framework for the last 30 years. The other two are rural states wielding wildly disproportionate power in the Senate relative to their sparse populations (Being from NoDak I absolutely love this, lmao) and the electoral college.

Republicans controlled the legislature in Pennsylvania in 2020 but that didn't stop the Dems from getting "friendly injunctions" to open voting up to drop boxes and uncontrolled mail in- basically, illegal ballot harvesting. Since they didn't have the guts to do what needed to be done to take power, they are now losing it.

At this point, a significant chunk of people are losing faith that the electoral system isn't full of fraud in certain states. That's fine in Texas or North Dakota because they trust their elections. Nationally, however, it means the Rs will have to escalate significantly to ensure they can get elected. If they don't, they get what they get. There was an Arab philosopher who once had a quip about strong horses and weak horses. The people will end up following the strong horse. Their opinions will change.
