the poll workers in arizona are probably all a bunch of elderly retirees who can hardly see even with their glasses on. if they can get this shit counted before having to get sent to a nursing home for pallative care, i would be impressed. they still got nothing on nevada. those guys probably show up for half an hour while hungover from their night on the strip, count a handful of votes, throw up everywhere and then punch out and hit up some more brothels and casinos. 2020 has shown that those people have no respect for the democratic process of tallying votes.

I think the failure is by being soft on crime. The cities in trouble have liberal DAs. Mayors from many cities, who are Dems, are asking for help bc criminals are let right back out. There is a reason many places are trying to get rid of liberal DAs.

Not only is "liberal DAs" not an actual plausible explanation for crime rates, the numbers don't add up. People really should get out of the habit of attributing every bad thing to their political enemies and put some real thought into trying to understand the world.

COVID restrictions had a lot more to do with the change in crime patterns than individual policy since it's nationwide increases. Increases in violent crime during the restrictions with a decrease in property crime, and now the reverse "post Covid" .

Yet, despite the slight increase which looks even more exaggerated because of the COVID era discrepancies, it's still one of the safest periods ever in American history and that's with a population that's exponentially larger than the past.

Obviously there are places to criticize policy in certain cities. I think it's pretty fair to take a look at SF policy sure, but these hotspots are certainly exceptions and not the rule.

Crime isn't "skyrocketing". It's not out of control. It's crime and sucks and it will be dealt with on a case by case basis as usual.

I can tell you that No Bail Reform and Liberal DAs are absolutely a problem. I see it first hand. We also emptied Rikers Island. Deblasio bragged that Jails have never been so empty in NY, while crime soars.....you can't make this up. My cop friends are told to turn their heads to many crimes. There are people of color begging for stronger laws on crime because in their communities the repeat offenders are wreaking havoc. The difference between a Centrist Dem Mayor and a Liberal one has ruined our city. You can skew numbers any way you want based on your sources. So can I. So fuck the "numbers". Violent criminals are let out to reoffend at alarming rates. That can not be denied. Cops being handcuffed can not be denied.

Just Google "Cop assaulted in NYC" and you will get dozens of articles of people with huge criminal history that assault cops only to be let out mere hours later.....there is a problem and denying it is dangerous.
