So if/when republicans take control of the house and senate, what are they going to do to fix the problems they ran on (inflation, crime, gas prices)?

We already know the answer... tax cuts for corporations

@MMAisGod early indications imply Desantis is going to win by more than the one sided polls. Some already feel ready to call it with republicans winning everywhere and the house delegation gaining multiple seats

I get cautious because you never know with these elections what the results will be but this is interesting. I'm especially curious what Pinellas County will end up as, because that could be a giant indicator of public sentiment and early 2024 trajectory.

Will conservatives even be happy under Republican rule in the future? Their policies are shit, they run on culture war garbage to get elected then do absolutely nothing to help Americans. Democrats are at least willing to throw everyone a bone once in a while. The recession we are in is global and now D or R is going to fix that. I'm at least aware that voting for R just means we will most likely give up our rights faster. I prefer not to sacrifice the short for long term.
As long as they don’t close down my business and force me to take an experimental injection, I’ll be happy.

It’s a pretty low bar, I’ll admit, but it was set by Dems, so watcha gonna do?

Probably nothing. But hopefully they just stop issues from furthering.

regardless I dont feel too confident in a republican win
Well if they do nothing then that means whatever happens (it getting worse, better, or staying the same) had nothing to do with them gaining power back and they basically ran on a lie. I do agree that they probably will just do absolutely nothing to ensure Biden gets nothing done with the remainder of his term then run on that for 2024.

If they truly had a plan to fix these problems that was viable and worked, I'd gladly vote for them.

Very true, especially with trajectory of 2024. If Desantis truly does win with over 55%, winning over these counties, I think that could sway even me to maybe want Desantis in 2024. Since that shows great ability to win over independents, which I think Trump is actually good with, but all his baggage turns off too many women and beta males (not minorities).

Trump took a swipe at Desantis at his rally in PA on Saturday, than praised him at the Miami rally on Sunday, then confirmed he voted for him today, only to then say he would crush Ron in a primary. Even as a Trumper, he needs to just stop for a few days lol

SPeaking of FL though, since the the GOP is now thinking maybe as much as 55 seats, Rick Scott could challenge Mitch. FL winning all over the place.

Tax cuts for the rich. Shut down the government. Get rid of ss and Medicare.

I love how democrats are like "ha, what are republicans going to even do!?" well nothing on a national level, because Biden can veto if not senate filibuster. But they will control comittees and the MAGA movement mantra is to bring back oversight and reign in these corrupt ABC orgs like the CDC, DHS, FBI, etc, which have all become out of control, show how corrupt these career beuracrats and uniparty losers like Biden and Cheney are corrupt losers, paving the way for Trump (or desantis) in 2024.

But obviously the energy for both gas and inflation is energy policy and reduced regulation. Simple as. That is why inflation has risen since day 1 of Biden admin when he had multiple executive orders on these things. So deflecting to "omg what will they dude" just shows how clueless someone can be.

Every single republican is running on energy independence, strong border, and funding police. It is so obvious lol

With the way the Supreme Court has been acting and the way Republicans have gotten more batshit insane with their Christian nationalism I'm just afraid of them reversing more things that take away the rights of minority groups. Again, people are struggling and I get that but it's important to understand that this is a worldwide issue and trading short term problems for long-term might not be the wisest choice. I just don't really know what these voters expect Republicans do to about the economy, they barely bring it up. The focus has been on trans people and stuff.

I don't see what you mean by Christian nationalism. I'm against compelled speech for pronouns and I'm the furthest thing from religious. Imposing time limits on abortion isn't Christian either. Every European nation has them. In Sweden and Norway it's 18 weeks. In Denmark it's 12 weeks. These nations aren't Christian nationalist.

Agreed. It's way too early to call it for either side. And given the number of issues already being reported, it could take a very long time to process all the votes.

I don’t even know how to respond.

How does a more Christian Supreme Court lead to removing minorities’ rights? Which rights are you worried about?

As for trading short term for long term, it’s the Dems who circumvented established laws (even to the point of forcing an experimental injection) and wrecked the country (ex. school closures and masking kids, forcing people out of their jobs, shuttering small business in favor of conglomerates) and it’s their policies that will be felt for years to come…

One step at a time. We can do better than most republicans, but whatever they are they're better than the radical left. I hope any victory tonight, fingers crossed, paves the way to getting rid of the communism-with-a-smile that's being planned by the internationalists and the WEF.
