Not true again. Quit making things up. Might be true for some states, but not the lax liberal ones we have issues with.

ID can only be asked to be shown in Illinois if first time voting in federal election, vote by mail and didn’t put down drivers license number, or if mail has been returned at your address.

Amount of time since you last voted is not a reason election officials can ask to see your ID.

"Voters who do not respond to confirmation of address notices are defined as "inactive voters," according to Illinois law. Election authorities are required to distribute lists of inactive voters to voting precincts at each election. If a voter remains in inactive status through two general elections–by not voting or updating their registration status–their registration is to be canceled."

They're fortifying Texas. Really sorry about the large image.

Yeah. So if a person just mails back a letter once every 8 years, even if they don't bother to vote, they're on the list and can't be asked to see their ID

Anyways, this isn't a voter verification thread so we can end the side rail. Hopefully some exit poll news comes in now that we're in the afternoon to get some idea of which way the races are leaning.

Inactive voters are generally questioned for ID. A poll worker isn't going to let you into the booth till they check to see if you've voted or not.

The effort would be knowing that you exist, are registered, and are also an active voter yet also not going to vote in the election. Or it's just entirely chance that the person trying to steal ONE VOTE is voting for someone inactive and they don't get questioned when they try to.

Duplicate votes are easily caught.
I am not sure what they do after they are caught. They can't go back in to the system and "delete" the fake vote. When I fed my ballot in, there was nothing saying it was my vote. It was just the ballot. I fed it into scanner on a line of others feeding theirs. No way to tell whose was whose.

If Dems win using fuckery again I'm blaming the Republicans this time. You know they will lie, cheat, and steal, and you did nothing. What legals actions have the right taken in the last 2 years to prevent this shit?

is it a red wave or not? you seem to be panicking quite a bit.

So once every 8 years you might be able to steal one vote in one district if you happen to know an active voter that isn't planning on voting?

Stealing one vote at a time is a pretty slow way to rig an election if you ask me.

Your vote is anonymous, for obvious reasons. I’m not sure how people get caught honestly. Cameras aren’t allowed, maybe if you incriminate yourself on social media or something.

I would assume that when the second person tries to vote, they're taken for questioning by election authorities and they go from there.

If the faker is the second one to vote I suppose. Are there cops in every polling station though, there was in mine. If not the guy could just bounce.

Not true to vote. I said my name, they read my address, I showed no proof, I voted. Same thing every time. I could vote for my neighbor if I wanted, or anyone else I know a name and address for.

You'd also have to accurately forge your neighbor's signature in front of the poll workers so that it matches with the one that they have on file, and if you get caught the penalty is 5 years in prison. All for 1 extra vote... high risk low reward... which is why nobody does this, and you won't either.

someone answer me seriously, why does the US voting system seem so precarious and unprofessional?
there's better voting protocols in my shithole eastern euro country than what you guys have.
why?

Honestly it does not inspire confidence going to vote in my station. Maybe cities have a more professional operation.

Well if the second guy is the real person, then they would just identify him and go after the other ballot.

Most voter fraud isn't double voting though, it's family voting on behalf of their family.

As already pointed out, we don’t have to do that.
