Tbh only 16-17 means something, also lmao at 8 year olds fighting in a cage, not where it should be heading.

Its been a while since I was involved in Pankration but I believe “no head-strikes” allowed, full-contact to the body, grappling allowed and submission wins the match. Thats why kids are in it, it isnt 4oz gloves cage fighting ffs.........

Also, I think you can throw a head strike but it must be pulled prior to contact, and an audible “Kia” of some sort showing you coulda hit the intended target. Then again, its been a while for me with the rule-set.

Not sure how I feel about anyone under 12 doing MMA, dialed back or not. Straight grappling sure, but under 12 I'm not cool with full contact strikes above the shoulders

That's cool. Still, not sure I like 7-8 doing full contact to the body. Maybe I'm getting soft

I've seen some youth pankration -- it isn't as dangerous as it seems based on what I watched, but it was evident to me that the most talented prospects respective to the age were in wrestling, not pankration -- may just be my anecdotal experience though.

8 seems kind of old to be starting this, Khabib was wrestling bears at 2 years old!

I remember in England, turn of the Century, when you didn't know if the local police was going to show off to close the (fairly underground) event.

Now it's cool, and kids, even little girls do it. Ronda bless, I guess.

So are we like Russia now or what
