The 2020 Mustang Shelby GT500 Makes 760 HP and 625 Lb-Ft of Torque
That means this thing cranks out more horsepower and torque per liter than any other production supercharged V-8.

Ford promised it was "over 700 hp" when it was announced last year, making everyone speculate if it would match the Hellcat's 717 hp or the ZR1's 750. It hilariously surpasses both. What a time to be alive.

Can't wait to see meth dealers and narcos racing around in this beast.

5 hp is hilariously passing? It also has 90 less ft lbs.

Hellcat Red eye has 797/707.

Looking forward to track and drag numbers for it though.
hilariously because they tuned it just enough to say it's more lol

Most people werent expecting it to be more than around 720hp. So they did overdeliver in this case.

Oh I see, I thought you were saying it easily surpassed it.

It would be interesting to dyno those 3 back to back and see what they really make.

Should handily beat the Hellcat's 0-60 and quarter mile but not the ZR1's. It should have worse markups than either of those so it's out of reach of anyone but wealthy collectors. I'd honestly rather have the gt350 so hopefully this drives the prices of those down.

They need more displacement. This engine will be grenading once the old farts that can afford it start beating on them.

American cars love using horsepower to cover up the fact that they are junk.

That's a pretty accurate statement. I will never daily drive a GM, Ford, or Dodge product because they're all pieces of shit in terms of quality. I will however own an American weekend/track car. I know it's going to break but I'm going to fix it myself as it's a hobby of mine.

Nice car. I'm on my third Camaro and would never buy a Ford but I love the competition and like to see Dodge and Ford pushing the envelope on the pony cars.

Also, I've only owned GM cars and they've all been reliable. My second V8 Camaro I bought new in 2001 and drove it for nine years and put 160,000 miles on it. Never had a serious issue with it. I had to replace the water pump and alternator once.

Yeah, considering the sheer amount of people abusing the V8's daily they have to be exceptionally reliable. I trust the powertrains- it's all the other components that tend to fail- sensors, electronics, interior trim, etc. More of a nuisance than a dealbreaker but still annoying for a car over 40k.

I dont understand brand loyalty to a car in this age. They dont give a shit about you so why honor them with undying allegiance? You tellin me this sexy beast cant tempt you away from GM?

I dont even like the regular 'stangs but this (and the 350) are utterly gorgeous. Perhaps the best looking American cars in a generation (the Ford GT is a unicorn and doesnt count).

Yeah, if you look at JD Power reliability rankings over the past couple years, you'll see that GM.. particularly Chevy and Buick rank quite high. Ford/Lincoln is in the middle of the pack and Dodge has been having a rough go of it.

As they move away from the standard mustang design cues the cars get better looking

They’re having redline issues with the 350’s if I’m not mistaken. Would love to land an older one from the last decade or so tho.

GM always makes a handful of cars that will drive forever. Everything else about them..? Up in the air nowadays..

The problem is, with things becoming more and more electrical how much will it bleed into everything else? My 15 year old truck has power lock and window issues, how long before the push button ignition on my newer car shits the bed?
