This is what worries me about Bernie: if you do anything outside of normal and average, you get fucked. If you do something exciting like work overseas for a foreign company, he still takes your stocks but you don't get to be in one of those funds; this is a fringe lifestyle that he didn't account for. Want to work as a contractor (eg -- I want to travel the world as a remote programming contractor), bam you get fucked by things Bernie supports like California's AB5 (this is why Dave Meltzer, for example, can't legally do MMA reporting anymore); this is a fringe lifestyle that he didn't account for.

If you don't work 9-5 for a big company that can be closely monitored and tightly regulated, the shackles just pop up everywhere you turn. Socialism forces everyone to do average, normal things or else they get fucked by one of millions of rules that are established to dictate your life because anything outside the ordinary is difficult to regulate or isn't going to get thought of when writing in exceptions to regulations.

I want to travel the world, work all over it, and just generally do non-average things. If we elect people like Bernie, obstacles just keep popping up and make it exceedingly difficult.
ESOP (Employee Stock Option Plans) or grants, have never been shown to hurt the stock value of the other holders as they tend to align employee interests and managements far more than other forms of compensation.

Are you saying that diluting 20% of the stocks, thus reducing your share of a company's equity to 80% of its prior value, will raise a portfolio's value????

Hate to jump in while you two go back and forth. I haven't read Sander's proposed plan.

But I need to point out that your portfolio shouldn't consist of one company and that being the company you work for. If that's the case, you need some financial advice. Also, if you owned 100% of the shares then this wouldn't include you. This proposed plan is for corporations not sole proprietorship.

Secondly, ESOP may dilute the overall number of shares that currents shareholders hold. But the shares will not be diluted to zero. I am saying that giving up some percent ownership in exchange for financing is a good trade. You may own less of the company, but your likely to increase the chances of the company having more money on hand or to raise more money. The shareholders can also liquidate their shares more easily.

Without getting into details the good part about a Bernie presidency is maybe it will get the ppl on opposite ends of the aisle to talk to each other. The right tend to accept election losses with less outrage than the left.

In the real world ppl don't care about the labels like communist or socialist they just like Bernie's voting record and character. They acknowledge his policies passing through congress is a long shot and won't happen any time soon but that its a step in the right direction.

Also Nina Turner is a fierce fighter and will destroy Pence in a debate.

If Bernie loses then 2024 the Dems will likely have a much better group of candidates with crossover appeal.

I think the Republican party will also have much better candidates in 2024 if Trump loses 2020. Think like a young version of Ron Paul but instead of being shunned these new candidates will get fair coverage by the media.

Also Yang on CNN is emphasizing that the DNC are gonna try to steal this from Bernie and talking anti establishment viewpoints. I was worried he would be attacking Bernie and praising Mayor Pete or Biden a lit but he's just saying the same talk he did on Joe Rogan and other podcasts. Relieved he isn't DNC shilling. He just announced his own podcast which is what Yang Gang wanted him to do. His podcast could be huge. Maybe he will have Elon Musk, Tucker, Sam Harris, other candidates as guests.

Bernie has the power and is a real threat to Trump.

Bernie is dominating because he has a huge coalition of hispanic supporters, that gives him an edge in texas, new mexico, colorado, california.

Additionally, he has the young vote.

Second additionally, Nevada shows him pulling in moderate democrats.

Trump isn't invincible.

Both parties will wake up to speaking to the people.
.
And it's thanks to the movement started in 2016 that I used to hate but now appreciate.

Maybe I'm being too positive but whatever there has been too much negavity in politics resulting in 24 percent of ppl being disengaged.
I have zero arguments against Nina Turner as Sander's VP nominee. I just want to make a case for Tulsi Gabbard.

Sanders isn't the most aggressive when it comes to legislating. I think he needs someone who would fight the Senate every step of the way.

20% stock to workers? You all are delisional if you think any of this will fly. He'll win maybe 5 states max.

Agree completely.

I love Tulsi and its a shame that she has been smeared to the point of ppl being scared of supporting her.

I hope Tulsi and Bernie are still good friends. Tulsi and Bernie would be a great team. I know Nina has shown nothing but love for Tulsi after she got attacked by the Hillary camp.

Tulsi as Secretary of State sounds great. I hope she fully backs Bernie as she has in the past.

Baha and he'll give cabinet positions to "the squad"
AOC as secretary of state? Roflmao!

And FINALLY a real choice between total bullshit and total honesty.

The amusing part is that for some reason, you can’t tell Bernie is selling you a pipe dream.

Bernie’s bullshit >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Trump’s

Trump delivered on numerous big campaign promises. Bernie will pass none.

Remind us who’s the bullshit candidate...

He only wants to give the stock to people who work for big companies like publicly traded corporations. But he wants to take the stocks from everybody who owns any stocks. Which means the millions of Americans who work for small companies are going to lose 20% of their stock portfolios so that Bernie can give it to people who work for big corporations...

Lol!

When Obama won, the GOP started accusing him of being a noncitizen communist Muslim Nazi despite him being a very well qualified and intelligent centrist, and started voting against and obstructing policies they previously supported just to make him a one term president.

The left mobilizing against a legitimately unhinged, incompetent, and corrupt grifter is nowhere near that level of hysterical partisanship.

I think the up to 50 million people without health insurance in the richest country to ever exist may argue with you.

20% is only for large corporations. Thanks for paying attention.

And FINALLY a real choice between total bullshit and total honesty. I think this will motivate young and minority voters.
As usual booger replies to a reasonable post with the status quo and an argument against regular people.

Every generation has to learn the hard way. When Trump has crushed Sanders and the Democratic party is decimated, all these liberal arts majors who want their student loans paid off will finally understand why the Democrats moved to the center to win with Bill Clinton and Obama.

They want to go hard left to see what happens? I say let them. Experience is the best teacher. Some people will only learn at the school of hard knocks. I think the only way for the Democratic party to rise is for a complete collapse and a purge from the party of the Sanders and AOC crowd.

You don't even realize the irony of your own accusations.

If it was any other election year, I think you'd be right. However, Trump is so spectacularly unpopular that I think Bernie will win.

The "far left" has broader appeal than the center left, because the centrist policies - interventionism, bending backwards for Saudi Arabia and Israel, flattened tax rates, corporate welfare, etc. - are not popular.

At this point, the perceived extremism is purely a matter of political tradition. No one is looking at Sanders's platform and saying "ok, maybe I could get on board if he could only be more accommodating to lobbyists and corporations." There's a reason Trump's anti-establishment rhetoric was so popular.
