***2018 NBA FINALS THREAD*** A CAVALIER DEATH MARCH!

I think what people are missing is that if they called that obvious blocking foul a charge Lebron, then he would have gotten two free throws since the dubs were over the limit.
You don't shoot FTs on a charge. It's just a turnover.

Things I took from Game 1:

JR Smith is a bone head

George Hill could have possibly put the game away if he had made his free throw.

I didn't think it was possible to dislike Draymond Green as much as I already do.

If LeBron leaves this team after the season is over I don't think anyone in Cleveland will blame him.

This Golden State team is going to have a lot of the country rooting against them now even if they hate LeBron.

I actually enjoyed watching this game despite the refs making some trash calls in crunch time and JR being JR. I hope this series can go 6 or 7 games but I have a feeling Cavs will lose in 5. LeBron has been an absolute beast in these playoffs but it probably won't be enough.

i love basketball but it is clearly the worst officiated sport ever

He isn't the one who initiates contact, and there's a reason they didn't cut back to Javie to force him into the verbal acrobatics it would have required to defend that call. Lebron wasn't perfectly positioned, but he was positioned to the satisfaction of all the rules to sustain the charge. Kevin isn't in control of his body, and barrels into him initiating the contact. Initiation of contact is like possession: it's 9/10th of your law, here. If the defender isn't initiating it is nearly impossible to attribute the charge to him unless his body is grossly out of position, and it wasn't.

There's a reason this call has already spawned a dozen articles condemning it in the hour since it happened. It's ridiculously easy.

Only Warrior nuthuggers could defend this, and of course there are. There were Kobe and other Laker nutriders who defended all those calls and games back in 2002. Your ilk is a plague.

Didnt read lol

This was worse to me than the Pittsburgh/Seattle Superbowl, and I'm a lifetime Seahawks fan. Just ruined what was an incredible game.

Don’t lifetime seahawks fans have to ride the short bus to and from? Rumor has it, I mean.

Everyones so triggered

Gotten top

U mad bro

Lmfao

Did you guys see LeBrick leave the presser mad as hell after being asked about Smith

<JRSmith40>

You want me to take your opinion here over trained professionals? What are your credentials again umm Mad mick is it?

Sorry, I think I’ll stick with the professionals thank you.
Donaghy appreciates you.

Hahaha Bron is such a douche. How can anybody like this guy? Just got up and walked out of the press conference because he didn't like the questions.

I think the officiating has been massively overblown this postseason. All the whining in the GSW/Houston series was just obnoxious. That was a well officiated series. Tonight they were not very good though. But for all the whining about the phantom shooting calls, Cavs got away with a ton of contact on the boards. At the end of the day, Cavs should have won twice but Hill choked and Smiff did Smiff things.

Bern is fucking incredible.

It is absolutely ridiculous to be able to reverse a foul call on replay only in the situation that it's less than 2 minutes left and you can claim you're checking if the player was inside the circle when he never comes within a foot of it. Instant replay absolutely sucks in every sport. All it does it waste time and fuck up rhythm. They don't even get the calls right half the time with it. But it's bbeyond ridiculous that that's the only kind of foul you can reverse. Fucking retarded rule.

Check out Stephanie’s reaction to that dude and then see if Bern is at fault there

Seriously, this is the type of stuff that loses fans for life. Egregiously bad reffing late in the 4th quarter in the Finals. I don't see how they can explain it.

LeBron strips KD clean, and they call a foul. On the other end, Looney gets all arm, no ball at all on LeBron, and no call. It was legitimately terrible, and highly suspect.

I see youre looking at it only from a "hope the warios lose" prospective. I saw a gang of calls that werent whistled both ways. To be fair they let these guys play tonight for the most part and ratings are better than evah

I didn't have a problem with the Houston series.

I had a massive problem with the rig-job I saw tonight. They were desperate for a one-possession finish to advertise the series. Can't have this narrative that it's a lopsided Finals defining the viewership after Game 1.

Having officiated several sports I will say it is by far the hardest to referee as well. Football and baseball are fucking easy as shit by comparison.
