Yeah, try to refuse fighting an opponent and you'll be joining Project Spearhead (which means, UFC throws you away like a spear)

There should definitely be harsher penalties for weight misses.

1st one = half of purse to opponent.

2nd = Forfeit and forced to move up to next weight class.

I'm not blaming the fighters as much as I blame the UFC. This isn't boxing, and the UFC has plenty of tools to get fighters to weigh-in correctly. If the UFC denied fighters a catch weight, then the UFC is just as unprofessional as the fighters missing weight.

Still there choice..they can get there show money .. They showed up there opponent didnt.. Just no bonus or rankings to be gained via wining..

It is a legal form of cheating. I honestly believe that. And I don’t think the penalty is big enough to deter it. I don’t like it, but I actually expect to see it more in the future. It’s become a strategy in non title bouts.

I don’t think that’s how it works. Sometimes they still get their show $$ if they don’t fight but that’s at Dana’s discretion.
