2017 was great year and very surprising (GOAT champions returned from the death)

As someone who has been a big MMA-fan since 2009 I didn't think for a second that both Jones and GSP would be back and become champs again.

I personally thought they were both done and I was surprised seeing the best years of MMA come back and then fade away quickly and it lasted for few months and it was worth it. MMA peaked in 2010-2011-12-13 and 14.

Jones was out for 2 and half years when he came back against DC and GSP was out for 4 years.

It lasted few months during 2017 and didn't last long due to circumstances and bad luck but nontheless 2017 can be forgiven due to such incidents occuring

After what happened in UFC 200. I seriously thought we were never gonna see him again and I thought his career was over and as for GSP I just didn't think he would return

Jones fought once in 14, 15, 16, and 17.

There is no 2 1/2 year period in there when he didn’t fight.
