The first year to end without a champion from that gym in a long time.

Recap of how the year ends for them:

HW: Overeem and Arlovski's championship ambitions likely came to an end.

LHW: Jon Jones exposed as a lifelong steroid cheat, in addition to being a blatantly dirty fighter in front of cameras.

MW: Do they even have a contender in the top 15 in this weight-class?

WW: The end of Carlos Condit's standing as an elite fighter.

LW: Not a single viable contender in this weight class.

FW: Cub Swanson relegated to gatekeeper status.

BW: Can't think of any notable contenders they developed here.

FlyW: No serious challengers to DJ's reign.

Women's BW: Holm has a couple of miles left. Will have to pull some serious strings to get her to challenge Nunes.

Women's FlyW: Don't know what's going on here, didn't even know this weightclass exists until I checked the fighter rankings on the UFC web page before making this threat.

Women's Strawweight: Michelle Waterson seems to be branching off into other things (good for her).

What explains this downfall?

Some shady things from this camp:
  • anti-LBGTQ+ prejudice
  • rampant PED abuse cases
  • matching up fighters against each other

The modern day Lion's den.

There's a good chane Joanna and Holm are champions again; and they are the biggest draw after banned LHW.

EDIT: From Condit to Arvloski; seems like they have no top of the food chain chunky 5'9 grappler types at the gym if they are the best there from ww to hw.

From that camp Donald Cerrone also went downhill it seems.
Jackson's guy's keep loosing, but it is part of the game, it is like stock market.

None too soon.

Why would it be an end? Cybro is a dude...

Brunson might be their best fighter right now.

At least Groovy Lando still puts on entertaining fights.

I hope so. They specialize in boring gameplans and the steroid issues surrounding them are prob my not a coincidence.

You forgot Dodson going 2-2 in his last four albeit his loses were razor thin split decisions. Still people thought he could be a top contender at BW and he's sitting at the bottom end of the top 10.

Also Borg lost to DJ in 2017 (their only "top contender" at 125) and Cerrone lost to Masvidal and Till.

Also Brunson is doing well at MW but I am not sure if he still does his camps at JW or not.
