I think you know me better than that.

You're better than most who fall into that category, but it's a famous way of smuggling in bigotry, and it's used very effectively by people like Sharpton, or David Duke, or nearly anybody who uses the word "Chicago."

It's exceedingly rare that "open and honest" means anything other than saying bigoted things without the shame of decency, or misapplying stereotypes to advance bad arguments.

I think you'll find that those arguments are nearly always begging the question with regard to their bias. Premises like "nobody talks about black crime, so (insert rant that demonstrates zero understanding)" are common- and of course so absurd that it's hard to imagine people think they can get by with them. And they don't- which is why they falsely claim they aren't getting a chance to be "open and honest." It's one big ugly circle of self-reinforcing bigotry that seeks a safe space rather than submitting itself to criticism.
