I assume that only the votes done by the registered voters will count as legitimate votes in this poll, no? Anybody who isn't a registered voter will have their vote negated? If so, what are the actual tally's like?

That is correct. I don't release any tally until the final results are in. I do make some comments throughout about how the race is going but never mention who is in what place.

Yes, which is why I chose to just say lazy then delete the posts. I also will say less lazy that you took out people who have voted.

I mean it's not perfect but I thought Viva's platform and position was attempting something similar to quipling and JDragon. It's entirely possible he could've been the one to emerge out of those three. I think he is outperforming quip right now.

What do you mean by "stealth format change"?

Also, what would be a good method of fixing this. An extra round with the top 5? change vote? Visible results before voting? I tend to think the first of those three would work best and possibly even just make it the final round and allow change vote in that round to avoid split vote concerns.

This Round ends Friday. Two candidates will make it to the general election which is the final round of voting.

A candidate convention, for a 3rd option, where candidates can pool the votes they got.

I have 6 votes right now. If I got homer to support me for the 3rd candidate, I would gain his 12 votes. Whoever has the most votes after a 72 your convention wins the final position.

Just the lack of any specific announcement that things were changed..

I'm asking what changed though? If you mean the criteria, that was announced in Round 1

I think an extra round with the top 4 would be an improvement, yeah. Makes the final candidates have to get a bigger share of the vote. Also limiting the candidate pool from the start. Allowing candidates to pass their votes along would also be better (makes all the votes matter, rather than a minority of them). Ranked choice also would fix the problems with the current system. Bill James wrote a good piece on the flaws with Gold Glove voting (after they led to Palmeiro winning the GG for 1B in a year when he was primarily a DH) that applies to this.

The candidates pass votes along somewhat for the tiebreaker criteria in Round 4. I didn't like change vote in the initial round because I figured it would become a 2 person race before it was an actual two person race. If the last round is more than two people, that eliminates that concern. I do like ranked voting as well but the poll feature on here obviously doesn't support such a system.

The real-world system is also better than this one (again, it would be hard for it to be more poorly thought-out if one tried to design a bad system), where there are independent primaries. The blocs needn't (and IMO shouldn't) be based on political ideology. For example, @Gutter Chris likes short, simple posts that don't necessarily connect to politics here, while I prefer the opposite. Serious discussions about serious issues, with fewer short posts, pictures, and rehashed 4Chan jokes.

I don't see a way to break things into primaries by group. Are you being serious about a bloc primary for a short simply poster v. serious discussions block or was that just a swipe as some people cause I really don't think that's a real solution you are putting out there.

What happened @pcptornado ??

I leave for a few hours and you're getting smoked in the race now. Now is the time to put the pipe down and concentrate.

I expect a come back victory that puts rocky to shame
Cut him some slack. He's got an early day tomorrow

How would you know who's with who in a convention?

Outside of Connor McGregor I couldn't even name a single Irish athlete at all. I'm sure they're all into sports I don't follow like soccer, rugby, or track and field.

Exactly, and he is 5'8. CNN is already reporting Irish as cuck shitlords.

Cool. Just making sure.

@HomerThompson you're still a contender now get your head in the game you bozo

Person is second is 6 votes away from the person in first. Person in third is 8 votes away from the person in second. After that it's fairly distributed. There are 191 eligible voters who have not yet voted

A post in the thread from a candidate, making a official statement in support of another candidate.

So it would be a chance for people to drop out or try to request someone else to throw their votes over to them? Would there be instances where neither candidate budges and they just remain with each of their votes?

It basically is allowing the remaining candidates, to elect a 3rd nominee, being the delegate representing however votes they received.

Yes, if a candidate doesn't endorse anyone, those votes are kept for themselves.

Without a concession and endorsement of other candidates, whoever was in 3rd would get the nomination.

Seriously though, vote Thompson!!!

Real analysis, real discussion, and all the Ford dogs you can handle.

My first sticky thread topic will be the devolving situation in the ME. All angles and players will be considered, but the main focus will be the escalating conflict between SA and Iran.
