And when I brought this up to a progressive friend, she had no idea and didn't quite know how to handle it, because it wasn't Americans who were doing the raping. She had been trapped in the leftist echo chamber and couldn't believe it.

So although what he said was worded poorly, had he not said it that way, I would probably had never known about the rape crisis of those crossing the border.

That kind of garbage is where a lot of his support comes from- stirring up nationalism and resentment. The Bernie Babies don't really vote- they're the same as the 08 & 12 'Ron Paul or slit your wrists' crowd.
 
I think the 3rd parties will do about twice as well as last time, so 3.x%. 4% tops.

I think he could have gotten those votes without literally saying "rapists and murderers" if he had said he was going to build a wall, we can't just have people coming here willy nilly, we can't have sanctuary cities, etc. The rapist thing got him lots of press but he would have gotten press anyway; he's Donald Trump.

They already said they wouldn't. They are supporting local and state Republicans. Haven't decided if trump is worth dumping money on.
