Obviously there will be other topics on this the next few months. This thread will serve to merge blog/ war wagon/ opinion threads and spare some stuff from the dump. Broad discussion of election encouraged. Same rules apply. Don't flame. Don't be racist. Don't encourage genocide.

Since the poll thread already asks who will win, feel free to give an idea for a poll in this thread.

"What percent will 3rd party candidates reach" or something along that line

I think stein and Johnson will get around 8% combined. Which is pretty high isn't it? Doubt it will make a difference in swing states

As far as i know steins record is 0.36%
and johnsons is 0.99%

Stein has the bernie movement behind her (and trump has done his fair share of pissing people off)i think both lib and green will come in around 4% (a piece) but im going solely off of gut

note: i voted 4% assuming the "third party" will get 4%

and the 4th party will practically tie but not combining that number (am i wrong in identifying "a fourth party"?)

I said 15-16% but I'm not really basing that on anything.

I love that we need to be told not to encourage genocide. 2016, what a year to be alive!

I love my avatar--it could serve as a model to be carved into granite--but these are making me want to change it already. The Residence formerly known as the White House, now Trump House, looks tremendous.

What do you guys think: If Trump hadn't said "they're rapists, they're murderers" about illegals when he announced his Presidency, would he be dominating the polls right now? Everything else the same--the wall, the bullying personality, the non-PC stuff--just without the "racist" comment. I feel like he must be kicking himself over that; it's pretty much the only thing the Democrats can use to smear him as a racist, which is the biggest hurdle he has to overcome if he wants to attract Bernie Bros.

That rapist line was horrible.

Yet, I didn't know what he was talking about until I heard months later that he was referencing the fact that 80% of women who make the journey to cross the border illegally report being raped:
http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2014/09/12/central-america-migrants-rape_n_5806972.html
And when I brought this up to a progressive friend, she had no idea and didn't quite know how to handle it, because it wasn't Americans who were doing the raping. She had been trapped in the leftist echo chamber and couldn't believe it.

So although what he said was worded poorly, had he not said it that way, I would probably had never known about the rape crisis of those crossing the border.

Here's a better one for you:
