And even then, if she's removed and a new person runs, they will beat trump by even more. Just like hillary would face a tougher challenge by any non trump republican at this point (who would look completely sane and unite the base damn near instantly).

Trump voters are the base. They wouldn't united behind any sane candidate.

David Duke Robocall Urges Voters To Vote For Him And Donald Trump

A robocall from white nationalist and former Ku Klux Klan leader David Duke urges voters to vote for him for U.S. Senate in Louisiana and for Donald Trump for president.

“Unless massive immigration is stopped now, we’ll be out numbered and outvoted in our own nation. It’s happening,” Duke says. “We’re losing our gun rights, our free speech. We’re taxed to death. We’re losing our jobs and businesses to unfair trade. We’re losing our country. Look at the Super Bowl salute to the Black Panther cop killers.

“It’s time to stand up and vote for Donald Trump for president and vote for me, David Duke for the U.S. Senate.”

In a phone interview with BuzzFeed News on Monday, Duke confirmed that the call was his.

“Everyone is saying they’re voting for Duke and Trump,” he said. “A blind man told me he was voting for Duke and Trump. The response has been overwhelming.”

Luckily Trump was smart enough to immediately disavow Duke this time.

Eh I think more than just his base will vote for him. Plenty of lack of self respecting republicans will vote for him.

Sure, but I was responding to the claim that replacing him with another candidate would unite the base. The base wants a shitty candidate like Trump. He didn't win a lottery or something to get the nomination.

the base meaning the whole republican party. While half of them might have wanted him, half of them don't at all. they may show up to vote for him based off their team winning, but thats about it.

What I'm saying is that the base--the most loyal and consistent voters--of the GOP *want* Trump or someone like him. They're not going to line up behind someone like Kasich.

Seriously folks, do you really think with all the shit riding on the outcome, we get to make the decision?

The outcome is preordained. This is just a big show.

Hillary Clinton could only get elected when the alternative is goofapatomus Trump.

America won't elect a Mormon or a fossil who's running mate is an utter dipshit, or a caricature reporting for duty.

Bush/Gore was the only competitive election since Kennedy/Nixon.

I don't like conspiracy theories but looking at all these races, they're not letting this pool of dumbasses decide.

McCain had a real shot in 2008 and then he chose the flirty dumb hockey mom to take over if he carcassized.

After 8 years of Dems in the White House, the best the GOP could do was Rubio and Cruz? Allowing Trump to win?

I can't accept this. The only thing that makes any sense is this is just staged.

Think about it. Do you really think us baloneyheads get to choose?

Do you actually think that Palin being chosen cost McCain a real chance at the election? Keep in mind that ours is a country which elects actors and wrestlers to be governors and presidents.

And hell, the "flirty dumb hockey mom" is the governor of a state already... And frankly, when the Democratic campaign is running talking about shattering glass ceilings against the sexist white male centric Republican party, a woman being in a position of power like Palin is is something you'd think would be turning heads rather than generating the level of vitriol that it does... Seriously - have someone talk about Clinton the same way you're talking about Palin and you'd have audiences lining up to decry how sexist you are - yet, that's pretty much par for the course when talking about Palin.

They aren't left to chance. Leaving them to chance would be flipping a coin. If you are saying they are rigged, well, you're just making excuses for Trump's inevitable ass whooping he will take in the general election. Wah wah wah.

Palin is a certified village idiot.

Clinton is a dangerous criminal.

I don't have a side in this one. That's what I am saying: what is this shit?

staging it would be far more difficult than letting the chips fall where they may.

whats even odder, is its often the same crowd who claims things like: "the government cant do shit right, they cant even run the DMV," who then will also claim that they are successfully pulling off these GIGANTIC nwo conspiracies. both cannot be true.

It's not completely staged; it's just set up to fall a certain way.

is this kinda like when everyone said "rick perry is who the establishment wants...its predetermined?"

i mean, even the freaking NSA gets hacked and has GIGANTIC leaks now. yet, people still think the govt. has these enormous hidden agendas somewhere, that would require action and people in on it at every level.

By whom? Republicans did everything they could to get their 'staged' candidates to the GE. But the hillbillies wanted Trump, and they got him. Now is it 'set up' if Trump simply stands no chance?

Sure, Hillary got the support of her party's machinery. That is not the same as implying something is 'set up' by some mysterious power.

These are the sort of claims I'd normally ask for a source or anything to back it up, but there's nothing to back it but suspicion.

Mysterious? I think not...

It's narrowly funneled to begin with the two-party system, and in at least close contests the primaries can be decided by party high committee members in voice votes.
