Elections 2016 Democratic National Convention

also, the mothers of the movement. no doubt they had a tough time losing their kids. however, if they had been so excited to teach their kids right from wrong like they appeared to be to get to go to the convention, maybe, just maybe.....

any celebrity of note is not going to appear at anything republican. it is career suicide. especially if it is a donald trump event. not that hollywood has a problem with people having their own opinions, but if you know what is good for you, you better be a democtrat. or else

I can see this being true for lower level, unestablished talent but there are plenty of established Hollywood names that we know lean right.

In 2012 Clint Eastwood was a big speaker at the convention. Before that Fred Thompson spoke in 2004 (he ended up running in 2008).

Vince Vaughn has been seen at Rand Paul events.

The fact is nobody wants to be associated with Trump.

FFS GOP politicians don't even want to be associated with him. Kasich is the Governor of the state that hosted the convention and didn't show up, Tom Ridge wouldn't come.

What do Kasich and Ridge possibly have to lose by showing up? Only their dignity.

of all the things to go after trump on, you are really worried that he didnt bring enough star power to the convention? really?
I am worried when he says things, and then doesn't even come close to delivering on them. Given he has no record, it is kind of important that he can't deliver on his words. Seems pretty in line with the rest of what we know about him as well, from Chump university to the Chump convention, his word is worthless. He is a used car salesman selling himself.

i wouldnt say up and coming only. i would also include established as well. eastwood is an icon, i would exempt them only. especially since eastwood does his own projects. it isnt like he is looking for work. fred thompson was a politician long before that. acting was a side gig. so it isnt exactly like he was worried about losing a career.

my point is that you are not going to see an "a" actor speaking at the rnc no matter who is running.

well you are in luck then that hillary is running. you can always count on her to deliver!

You support Trump, therefore you support a birther. Maybe you should actually learn about your candidate. As of this morning, you also support a traitor.

You made the assertion. Support it. How did hollywood giving 17 million to Clinton make it so Tom Brady was scared to endorse Trump?

He already did and was forced so back track, you seem to be about 3 posts behind in this conversation

Clinton just announced that she was against the TPP after being completely in support of it up until today, this is a blatant attempt to get back in good graces with Sanders supporters but don't expect the media to call her out on it.

lol
"Trump is a traitor and should be arrested for treason!"
Someone needs to step away from the keyboard.

So what does it say about Trump if Putin
would rather have Trump be president

That it would be advantageous for Putin, of course. But that's just because Clinton's relationship with Putin will be toxic and he desperately wants--needs--to be accepted into the cool kids' club again (that would be the "good graces of US/EU" club). Russia's economy is terrible and they're pretty much a pariah right now. That won't improve if Hillary is elected, but there's a chance for reconciliation if Trump is elected. I don't think Russia sees Trump as "their candidate," rather they see Hillary as so bad for the future of their country that any alternative is preferable because it allows for a glimmer of hope. Russia's near future is looking bad without a US President willing to give them a second chance post-Crimea.

Hillary literally takes millions of dollars from Saudi Arabia who funds and trains terrorists all over the world but don't vote for Trump because Putin likes him. No wonder the DNC hasn't even mentioned ISIS in two days, they are in the take

It was obvious awhile back that the dude is going to switch party affiliation (and end up proving Jeb Bush right in the first place).

Kasich is a real conservative though. If he ditches your party that is a bad image for the party.

If using free money from the Fed to provide healthcare and psychiatric to try and lower crime recidivism makes you RINO this part is in big trouble.

I'm a Republican and I'm not voting for Trump because he's a buffoon who's failed at everything he's tried except inheriting a fortune and becoming a reality TV star.

He's basically Kim Kardashian.

lol @ Kasich being a real conservative. It's like saying Jim Webb was a real liberal.

And you can't boil down conservativism/liberalism to just one issue. (I actually agree with Kasich here - and that stance isn't Republican)

Trump has owned over 500 businesses. A handful have went bust.

Total failure. We Sherdoggers could do so much better.

So you're one of those conservative who sees Ted Cruz as the savoir and thinks the party would be in better shape with him despite the fact he unfavorable rates were just as bad as Clinton's during the primaries.

Trump just inherited 5 Billion dollars you know...
