I really don't even understand why it's so controversial if your party wins. It's a trade deal negotiated by the executive branch. Right now Obama is in charge of it and if Sanders had won he would have been I charge of negotiating it.

I could understand Dems being against it if it was being negotiated by a Republican Congress but that isn't the case.

Fair enough. While language was added to the platform about trade deals, it did not mention TPP by name, even though Clinton and Sanders are against it. Would have been a slap in the face of Obama, apparently.

they havent even addressed the egregious environmental terms within the TPP; forigen countries able to modify a country's carbon policy to suit their needs. Hillary called it the gold standard of Trade deals 16 months ago and only seemingly soften her stance as it became a bigger issue among the left (obviously a huge issue for some) and they still haven't amended it.

Bernie straight up said Hillary wouldnt let it it go to the floor in his speech yesterday, when they have had chances to rid it on the platform and failed. There is absolutely no reasonable and tangible evidence that Hillary or the dems will not go through with it.

Im not even anti TPP -- just utterly shocked Bernie would back down and tell his lovers hillary wouldnt go through with it.

The whole thing is an embarrassment, IMO. The TPP has positives and negatives, and you could make a good argument for or against it, but the left acting like it's some kind of major catastrophe is just stupid knee-jerking against trade (free trade in general, BTW, is one of those issues that has bipartisan support from voters and bipartisan opposition from parties, though fanatics portray opposition to it as populism). Because it is something that can go either way, though, sacrificing it to appease the morons in the party is fine.
