I don't think it would be enough and they are still a mile away from Golden State.
I think you are significantly downplaying Brown and the potential of Fultz or Ball. Everything I've read online is that George is dead set on going to the Lakers if Indiana doesn't surround him with talent. I'm not attached to Bradley, its more about the thought of George bailing plus Crowder's contract is huge in today's league with how he is playing.
Do you think there is a reason the price on him was as low as it was? Guys a great talent but hes a "my way or the highway" nut job and there is a good chance him and Stevens don't mix well. The Celtics are getting Bradley back soon, if they can get to the ECF and still be stocked with assets then I think thats a huge win in terms of drawing a Free Agent. If they could add Fultz and Hayward to a team that gets to the ECF and still have the Nets 18' pick and Memphis 19' pick (i see them going downhill soon). Then that puts them in a GREAT spot.
How exactly could you sell it being #1. Everyone with a brain knows their is a lottery involved. Teams fall in love with players during March Madness and the combines. If its #1 or #2 i think it will have more value then ever. Even if its #3 which is worst case scenario, that is still Ball or Josh Jackson which are two guys everyone already loves.
No don't go on, because its not a similar situation. There is a reason nobody around the league was willing to give up anything for him. If we're talking Rat, why didn't he make the move? Miami had the assets. Boogie is a cancer, plain and simple. Great player, but dude is a lunatic. I wouldn't have been mad at Ainge for getting him, but I don't think hes in the minority in not wanting him. There are a lot of GM's who passed on Boogie.
Ive seen numerous different reports, if Ainge didn't offer one of them its a big time Jimbo. But I think he had to have made one of them available. The offers thrown out there for George and Butler don't really add up. I'd think Butler would have fetched more due to the extra year.
