Bogdanovich is hopefully a decent fit. I can't imagine McCollough getting minutes with the Wiz when he's barely played for the Nuts. We still need a real backup PG, Burke is too shoot happy and the offense stands around when he's running point.

I'm fine with Nicholson and Thornton going. They weren't playing anyway. I don't understand why a 1st round pick (even if it will likely be in the 20's) needed to be included to make this happen. If it were, I'd have preferred Shabazz from the Wolves.
Probably needed to include a pick in order for someone to take Nicholson's 3 years left on his deal. Can't get shit for free.

Yeah, you're probably right. Glad to be rid of that contract anyways. Guy is playing about 5 minutes a week for several million.

There's talk of Boston getting Raul24 in a 3team deal

Basically Boston gives up:

Nuts 2017 1st + Memphis 2017 1st + Jaylen Brown + Avery Bradley

to get Raul24 + Seraphin

So how the hell do the Pelicans get DMC for a non-lottery 2017 1st + Bud Heels but Boston has to give up a top 3 2017 1st + a non-lottery 2017 1st + the 3rd overall pick in 2016 + a very solid starter in Avery Bradley just to get Raul24 and Seraphin?

Boston should do that. They would be a title contender now.

Well, in comparison to the DMC deal, Bostcan would be paying out a lot. I think I'd still do it if I were them. They're stocked on picks, Raul gives them WAY more than Bradley, and Seraphin is actually not that bad. He'd definitely improve the team rebounding. He can defend and has some awkward, but effective moves in the post. He's a career reserve though and does have injury history.

If I'm Boston I pretty much have to do that deal but I'd definitely try lowering the offer. I'd do either Brown or Bradley but not both

Do the salaries even match?

It's a 3team deal also involving Philly but I was just posting Boston's role. Philly would send Okafor to Indiana and get Bradley from Boston. Zeller also goes from Boston to Indy

Indy isn't going to do a deal unless they're blown away. Last time I checked their GM isn't named Vlade.

That deal gives Indy:

Nuts top 3 2017 pick
Memphis non-lotto 2017 pick
Jahil Okafor (2015 #2 overall)
Jaden Brown (2016 #3 overall)
Zeller

That seems a bit excessive, especially considering Raul24 is basically forcing them to trade him

not cool w/ my dude Bogdan leaving, he'll get less minutes in WAS now

fuck

Bit excessive? The only good thing in that trade is the nuts pick. Indy would basically be pressing the reset button. Boston would also be getting PG for another year.

They'll get cut into somewhat, but if he's more effective than Satoransky coming off the bench, he'll probably pick up some minutes as the starters will need more rest than they've been getting down the stretch. If he plays well, I think he'll still get about 20 min/gm.

well that and they have an actual PG to feed him the ball

even their backups are better than Whitehead and Dinwiddie w/ Lin out

In addition to Nuts pick:

- Memphis pick right now would be pick 22 in a deep draft. Decent value
- Okafor still has a ton of upside
- Jaden Brown even has upside

And this is with Raul24 saying he's not committed to re-signing w/ Indy, basically forcing them to trade him. Usually when you have to trade a star you get hosed

The Memphis pick the C's own isn't 2017, its 2019. And its top 8 protected.

I mean if you're really hellbent on getting rid of him maybe just do what plenty of teams do and give him the option to retire on his own

But that would still be pretty lame. I think it's weird that the same guy involved in signing Shaq, trading for Kobe, trading for Pau, trading for Dwert, had a deal in place that nearly landed them Chris Paul, etc etc etc suddenly became an incompetent GM overnight. Also kinda weird that this purported incompetence just so happened to coincide with the Buss kids taking over for Jerry and Mitch's daughter tragically dying after a lengthy illness.

fair enough.

much like with coaches, this kind of thing is just a GM's fate it seems
