Staph averaged 17 points and 5+ assists his rookie year on pretty good shooting percentages. He had a solid rookie campaign. It was no where near the list of greatest rookie seasons ever.

He went because he is desperate as shit for a ring

Sounds familiar...

i know it was the yoffs, but Magic literally played C in the Finals his rookie year after KAJ sprained his ankle. Magic put up 42,15,7,3 in game 6 and won the Finals MVP.....as a rookie

cotdamn

Lettuce be cereal, Staph didn't even have the best rookie season of his own draft class

Ok bench, you've been handed a 28 point lead to start the 4th. How quickly can you let them back in the game?

Wizcans really need to beef up the bench. It is ridiculous that the starters have to play minutes in this 4th quarter. Morris and Porter still on the court and WallGOAT and Bealst just got to sit.

What's the consensus on Brooks? I hated him with a passion in OKC
I'm getting converted as the season goes on. He's really got them playing together and trusting each other on defense, which is huge. The season turned when they started getting stops consistently. They were a little (a lot) lost to start the season.

He still doesn't really have an offensive concept, but WallGOAT is playing so well, it doesn't matter. He keeps the offense going. Brooks is playing the starters and top two guys off the bench more than I wish he would, but he's doing it because there is absolutely no depth here and as soon as there are less than 3 starters on the court, things go really bad. I also think he understands who plays well together when he does have to use the bench.

We'll see if this is just the team getting hot though, or if he really is tapping into something Whitman couldn't. All reports from the local coverage is that it's a better locker room this year. The guys liked Whitman, but he had kind of lost them by the end. Word is they've bought into Brooks.

Wizcans now 33-21 after starting 3-9 (or 6-12, however you want to look at it). They're 30-12 (27-9) since that awful start. It would be pretty cool if this is really who they are. Unfortunately I worry about the 'second half' being more loaded on road games. But if they can play reasonably well on the road, they'll still finish top 4.
