You see the Guardian post where they claimed Sakho was a better defender than Hummels and that Hummels was overrated. Sakho had the fucking game of his life yesterday!

Yeah. Folk are too often blinded by different expectations when giving player ratings.

Seems Hummels has to be a Worldie tempo player starting off a lot of counters to stand a chance of getting an 8 nowadays. He's still a great defender when a Harry Kane type of CF presses & cuts his distribution down.

Whereas Sakho just needs to get a couple of blocks in lol He did play very well last night though.


Origi tired later on & Hummels took full advantage of the space & time he was afforded. Klopp left Divock on a little too long.

With Hummels it isn't even just his defending ability, I remember he had an off year last year, along with most of the Dortmund squad and people were calling him overrated. He's one of the best CB's with his playmaking ability and vision with very good long passing. He would be an asset to any team in the world right now.

It's a shame we never got to see a full strength Spurs side play against Dortmund. They share a lot of similarities.
