Spot on analysis from a random. Really wish Masai tanked it properly last season and blew it up. Would have been nice to pick up some picks and assets and just tank for Wiggins while letting JV carry the burden. I really wonder if the Raps tank if they would have been handed Wiggins in rigged fashion.

Raptors won't contend with this current roster, they will most likely never make it out of the second round even in this absurdly weak EC. I think their best bet would to build a decent roster and hope that Wiggins comes home.

thx man. been a die hard raptor fan since the beginning. Which is sad to say because 20 years = 1 five game series victory........... i can hardly think of an expansion team in the nba that has done worse.

Would be happier tanking til 2016 and collecting young talent then when the cap space is there really making a play for Durant (not gonna happen but we can dream).

Was praying the tank would happen and Masai would work his magic to get us Wiggins regardless if we won the lotto or not. Trade pick + anybody outside of JV and future picks to move up. Oh well, here we are again looking like a fringe playoff team/1st round meat for the next few years.

Lowry says winning a championship is really high on his priority list for picking the team to sign with but wants more than market value to stay on a team he supposedly loves?? kind of lame.....

Masai has said since day one that his goal to is to contend in 2016. Everything he's doing right now points to that. He has his key pieces locked up (JV, Ross, Lowry tomorrow, Demar even if we use him as trade bait next year), and the rest are expirings at the end of this season, or can be easily traded (minus Fields).

Next year's offseason is going to be a big one for the Faps. I expect them to make the playoffs this season, but that's about it.

if everything is building up to 2016 (and i agree with that) then doesnt tanking make more sense?? Esp with Wiggins and the deep draft out there this year??

Esp if you willing to part with DD (i am aswell, esp coming off a career year, his value is sky high) then u have an outstanding chance of getting Wiggins regardless if the ping pong ball dropped for you or not. You could trade your pick + DD for the 1st pick but you might be able to to less than DD, maybe Ross + future pick(s))

Worse came to worst the draft was still deep but an opportunity like Wiggins, with his potential, background and dream to play here isnt likely to come for a very long time, if ever.

Masai stumbled into this years success and it will likely cost us in the future. No high draft picks this year and prob not next year. 1st round exits. Overpaying to keep Lowry and fully expecting KL and DD to improve or at least stay the same on what have been overwhelming career years for both. I hope it happens but i dont think you can expect it for both of them.

As for Ross, im not as high on him as other ppl seem to be. 2016 is the Kevin Durant pipe dream all raptor fans seem to have. Given Torontos history of attracting big time free agents.............. yea. I hope it happens but i think banking our future on it is a mistake. The best chance we have at a true superstar is drafting one. Easier said than done obv but Wiggins has that kind of potential imo

To cool for mma *posts on mma site*.

12 a yr for Lowry. Da fuk. Way to much.

It would have been hard to tank last year due to all the other teams tanking so well in the east. To keep our key pieces and not make the playoffs last year would have been ridiculously hard, unless we kept Rudy Gay and started our bench with him every game.

We're not tanking, but we're not making any incredibly stupid decisions that will hurt us in the future either.

Where were you all of last season??

Pistons, Mavs, Lakers, Heat looking to acquire RFA Isaiah Thomas. man, if Heat gets him watch out. He's a legit scoring threat. He'll be serviceable as a Maverick too because Felon is a can.

Lots of teams with cap space means that lots of cans will be getting paid more than they should. Most gm's don't know what to do when they have money to spend.

You're never guaranteed the number 1 by tanking

There is always karma as well

I was riggin for wiggin but building a winner is never a bad thing

If Heat get Isaiah, Faust will be full on broner.

The cHeat can get FA's, but they won't get young ones. They'll get a bunch of ring chasing vets.

All the younger talented players are looking for their first big payday.

According to Windhorst, Lebron is letting his agent do the negotiating and on a plane to Brazil right now.

So the Thunder made 29 mil this year........

They have no excuse to not go after a couple of good FA and no freaking excuse to not amnesty Perk.

I still feel like picking Ibaka over Harden was the right move but it seems they could have easily kept him while still probably making some profit.

Thunder won't get rid of Perkins. Even though they're one of the most profitable teams they will always be cheap

12mil for Lowry huh? He's great but that is quite a bit

only homer raptor fans or bandwagon jumpers dont realize its overpaying. Raptors boards/fans all jumping for joy to overpay somebody because most FA's leave. Sets a precedent for all our young players tho, come FA time guys like JV/Tross will be licking their lips in a few years. Knowing we gotta open the vault and overpay.

Lowry should get 8 million max. But the raps have to over pay for him to want to stay in that 3rd world country

Woodson waiting in the wings like a Martell.

Silently plotting Drew's demise lol.

Good find CP. I always thought assistants are like vultures. This is not an uncommon behavior.
