I don't think any of us know for certain who's right and who's wrong in this case. I'm simply trying to investigate the issue so that we can hopefully arrive at the truth eventually.

Protip: this is how science works

Do you understand contracts? All Lebron has done is inform them that on July 1st he's opting out? That's the first day that he can terminate his employment. Until then he's still technically an employee. Don't know how you can debate anything about that.

Faust invents shit all the time.

No doubt in my mind he can create a way for players to collude that doesn't violate the CBA.

No doubt at all.

1) Check the rustle

2) Are you sure about that?

He's not free to sign with another team until July 1st, but it would seem that by opting out of his contract he effectively terminated his employment with the Heat. Whether this is indeed the case might come down to Bern's 2013-14 paycheck schedule. The default schedule is 24 checks/yr paid biweekly every month. But Bern's contract qualifies for a 12 check schedule paid over 6 months beginning in November of each year.

For argument's sake let's assume Bern took the 6 month schedule. His contract covering the 2013-14 season has already expired. Since he doesn't have a contract for the 2014-15 season, it would stand to reason that he is not currently under contract and is therefore not employed by the Heat.

He's under contract until July 1st at 12:00 AM. Same with Wade and Bosh.

If Bern was on a 6 month payment schedule for 2013-14, then the Heat already satisfied their contractual obligations by performing their promise to pay Bern an agreed 2013-14 salary. Bern has satisfied his 2013-14 contractual obligation to play basketball for the Heat. With both parties having completed performance, the contract is executed.

I feel like I should support the Cavs as my #2 team just because of all the Canadians they have on the roster, but then I realize being a fan of one terrible organization is enough.

#Wiggins2018 He's coming home to TO

lol, I can't believe how ignorant you really are. This post makes you sound not only dumb but poor.

NBA players get paid twice a month? What are they poor or is this just because they're that bad at budgeting?

I'm still blown away by Cleanthony.

no kidding. if UK hadn't owned them in the tourney, they would of won the whole thing. then he would of been a top 10 pick. i didn't see him a lot during the year, but what he did to UK in that game was scary.

They're that bad at budgeting. So many athletes go broke and I think NBA/NFLers are at the top of the list.

Deshawn Stevenson has a fckin ATM in his house

I was actually referring to the explosiveness of his name, but he's a pretty good player.

This Saturday, the UFC will run a card in Auckland, New Zealand, to be broadcast on their online subscription service. The main event will feature New Zealander James Te Huna, who's lost two straight, and Nate Marquardt, who's lost three straight; the rest of the card isn't much more inspiring.

Also this Saturday, the UFC will run a card in San Antonio, Texas, to be televised on Fox Sports 1. The main event will feature Jeremy Stephens, a featherweight with a 10-8 UFC record best known for once having been arrested the day before he had a scheduled bout, leading to thankfully failed negotiations in which promoter Dana White tried to convince the Hennepin County sheriff's office to let the guy out of jail just long enough for him to fight. The co-main event will feature Nicholas Muskoe, a welterweight so obscure he doesn't even have a Wikipedia page.

Smh there isn't shit to watch in the off-season of A-level sports...

The New Zealand card is terrible but the San Antonio fight card has a few good matchups. Jeremy Stephens and Cub Swanson should be fun

Someone steer this ship, were doing ufc talk in the nba thread

from lottery pick to undrafted, that's come quality development by ol' roy

He's a great example of why staying in school doesn't always help the kids. I can't believe how terrible he is. He was the best player at the U17 Worlds and now is straight trash homie.

About an article on dead spin hating on the UFC lol.

Imagine if the NBA added 30 expansion teams over the next two years, and then sent out a favored reporter to lecture the public about how true fans should appreciate the diminished quality of play. This sounds impossibly stupid, and yet it's more or less what's happening in one increasingly dim corner of the sports world.
