I see a bit of a debate about Stauskus's athleticism. He is deceptively more athletic than you might think, and they did a piece showing some of his leaping ability back during the tournament, but for pure, factual information, here was his Draft Combine performance versus Elfrid Payton (I think there are like three other Kings fans on the board):

Nik Stauskus (SG)
Lane Agility: 10.79 (5th)
Shuttle Run: 2.92 (t-12th)
3/4 Sprint: 3.27 (t-20th)
Standing Vert: 29.0" (t-29th)
Maximum Vert: 35.5" (t-23rd)

Elfrid Payton (PG)
Lane Agility: 11.06 (13th)
Shuttle Run: 2.92 (t-12th)
3/4 Sprint: 3.23 (13th)
Standing Vert: 31.5" (t-14th)
Maximum Vert: 35.5" (t-23rd)

So Stauskus actually outperformed him in these numbers, and on the upside, Stauskus was among the worse in bodyfat percentage at ~12%, so he probably has more room from improvement simply by working with the S&C & Nutrition Coaches to gain a more favorable lean mass ratio. Payton has bigger hands, but Stauskus is taller and has a greater wingspan.

We went for offense. Nik was the most complete and dominant individual player in the NCAA 64 this last year. Payton is known for defense. One metric none of these test is strength, and strength tends to be just as important as quickness, agility, and leaping for defense. However, I think Stauskus would probably surprise us all in his strength performance relative to the rest of the class, too.

I'm building optimism.

I think the guy who performed great against better competition will be the better player. Payton rose too high out of nowhere. Doubt he makes the same impact as Stauskas will.

Magic will have a good defense but no offense next year

lol, Beilein has been producing some nba talent the past two years.

Tyler Hansbrough >> Serge Ibaka

Tyler Hansbrough >> Serge Ibaka

Wasn't Ibaka playing against pros overseas already? Either way, when comparing Stauskas and Payton that example applies.

He was in La Liga D-league, which is nowhere close to the ACC, which Hansbrough dominated.

Psycho T and Harangody should be tearing it up while low quality league players like Paul George and Kawhi Leonard should be out of the league by now.

Do you really feel Payton is the better player?

Lillard played in a can division, and he turned out alright.

Although Lillard is a waaaaaaaaaay better shooter then Payton has ever been.

Payton will probably turn into a Keyon Dooling type of player, imo

I don't know a lot about Payton, but Stauskas looks like he'll be a pylon to me. I understand he went to your school and is Canadian so you and the CANs are obligated to cheerlead for him.

This is what billionaires are dealing with out in LA

I mean wtf is that shit. Streetwalking trannies down here in SoFla look better than that trainwreck.

Lmao. Donaldo is 100 years old. This is a Revo-9 in any case. Some people, like revo, rate her highly. Not bad for an old man.

Don't think anyone is calling him a lock down Afflalo type defender.

Dude can shoot the light outs though. Rather have that then a Patrick Beverly clone.

If Dr. Buss was with this skank you would rate her a 10.

Oh, also, my musing on LaVine turned out to be correct, haha. Hadn't seen him in the Top 17 on any list up until the final week or two. Goes #13. Draft Combine athletic numbers weigh heavy come draft day.

Apparently, he was promised by the T-Wolves with the 13th pick because of his agent's ties to Flip Saunders and the organization. That same agent manages Shabazz Muhammad and Klay Thompson (who the T-Wolves are trying to trade for) who is the son of Mychal Thompson who went to University of Minnesota.

That org has a deeper problem than i thought if they're letting Agents influence their basketball decisions. Kevin Love shouldve jumped ship earlier.

Early ROY anyone? Parker, Wiggins are shoo-ins. Randle has a good shot too imo.

I think Snyder will let Exum run wild on the court while Snyder runs wild on the coaching staff's wives.
