Hockey can afford a higher cap because their fanbase is largely made up of hard workers with disposable income. The NBA attracts fans of all income levels, unfortunately this includes a large segment from BD's economic class.

Thank you for conceding Americans are poorer than Canadians.

Oh lawd

There's probably more poor Americans but there's also much more rich Americans. As a whole the USofA is far far wealthier than lulzy Canada

lol'ing hard @ the thunder's 27 mil reporting. What a slap in the face of uncle sam.

Can't afford to pay your explosive athletic a level athletes as much as the hard working pluggers with intangibles

How cans on a hockey team? In the NBA they're only allowed to carry 15 players.

Nhl had a higher salary cap than nba

Who's poor now?

Who's the better stern protege bettman or silver?

They have a lot more players per team. Average salary of A-levelers is still way higher.

Don't understand where Hayward would even fit with the Cavs. Backing up Wiggins? SG?

I think Bosh should leave and try to get max. He played well on the Heat as the third option, but realistically he isn't worth the money and doesn't fit with what the Heat need. Heat need a rim protector and rebounding and should spend the Posh money on one and let Post sign with Dallas or some chit.

Maybe Waiters gets traded? The rumor last year was that him and Kyrie had issues, with him locked up and Hayward he could be the odd one out.

NFL players have the worst fucking union looool.

By far the most popular sport in NA, and the players on average make the lowest salary.

using google, 23 and 20 are dressed for a game. Pretty silly how thats even a discussion tbh, nobody makes more than a one true A level athlete.

Well, having huge rosters definitely keeps the NFL salaries down too, but yeah, their union is pathetic. They lose every single time.

NFL teams can have 50+ players, though. I'm sure that really drives down the average.

Yeah, but the last lockout had nothing to do with teams or the league losing money. Everyone agreed, they were making record profits, and the players still caved.

Shit is hilarious, and sad.

The owners got brain damage on their side.

Yup, the owners basically just said, we're tired of you guys making 60% and even though profits are at an all-time high, we're taking a bigger slice. Union responded back by saying ok, as long as we get some extra health insurance you can have that extra $900,000,000 in revenue we used to get.

Find me lockouts/strikes where the players end up "winning" in any sport though.

When it comes down to it, billionaires can afford to sit through a labor stoppage more than millionaires can.

Baseball's union wins most of the time. They certainly haven't ever bent over.
