LMAO @ juice taking (demanding) the max deal. Talk about holding a gun to your teams head. Incredibly selfish when you take into account that he's done nothign but life time lose/ride coattails his entire time in Miami LOLL!!

He should take a page out of the one true's book and take a pay cut so the team can explore options. Just too selfish for it I guess LMAO

yeah a member on the Nets RealGM board posted on Thursday that Kidd asked for a raise and the President position but was denied and will be fired. He WILL BE hired as President of Basketball Operations and as a coach of the Bucks.

Duncan took a pay cut from $21.2m to $9.7m in 2012. Does it really make a difference that Heat players did it this season rather than next?

Unless Heat players are being paid under the table or promised some financial reward in the future, they didn't violate any rule. If Bern gets a max deal in a few years that wouldn't qualify because he's already expected to get a max deal regardless.

Duncan didn't opt out of his contract and leave $40mil on the table.

Duncan was 36, and re-signed for less (he didn't opt out) because he was past his prime. He did it to make sure Parker got paid what he was worth, since he was pretty much the most important player on the team, and still quite young, and to retain Splitter, who was to be Duncan's primary relief. Manu followed suit the following year. This wasn't something they discussed over arugula salads and Mai Tais in their white capris at lunch one day.

Also keep in mind that the Spurs are a pretty small market and for them paying a luxury tax is a big deal.

What Duncan did was noble. What the cHeat are doing is collusion, and pathetic.

I can't stand the Heat, but it's completely unreasonable to hate those guys for this. If anything, you have to credit them for doing what it takes to build a winning team.

Criticize 'the Decision,' or Wade's constant flopping, but don't hate on the guys for taking less money to get another player.

Isn't Kidd supposedly close with the GM of the Bucks also?

I saw that. I really hope that doesn't actually happen. The Bucks are getting closer to turning it around, and then they do this?

Miami's big 3 will likely all be signing contracts worth more than the money they're leaving on the table here. Bern might be the exception if he takes a short deal, but whatever he still wouldn't violate any league rules by doing so.

Duncan could've got the max from SA if he wanted it. He didn't have to cut his salary in half to make room for Parker, Parker had Bird rights. He took the pay cut to give Cantonio some cap flexibility. Small market boo hoo cry me a river.

lol @ collusion and pathetic

Woj now reporting that Kidd actually wants (and may or may not have already been offered" a Fill Jax type role as Team President where he can make changes from Day 1. That may not include him being on the bench at all for the Bucks. Again, there is a report that he has been offered the job as Team President already. WTF?

Oh, and that RealGM thread...later in the thread, the OP says the Nets are talking to Mark Jackson about the coaching job.

Good ol Fuss will attempt to justify anything Bern does.

Never said it was against the rules. It's just something that doesn't happen in the NBA and the mentality behind opting out to take less money to get help is pathetic. They already took the easy way out by taking less to form a super team with 3 top 10 players. Now after a failed season, they need to take less so that they can get even more help. It's the same loser mentality that everyone hated the Heat for the first time around.

I'm just here to be a voice of reason amid all the hysteria from Heat-haters

---SEASON ENDS---

Heat-haters: "Bern is gonna leave the Heat!!!"

Voice of reason: "Nope."

---BERN OPTS OUT---

Heat-haters: "See it's happening Bern is leaving!!!"

Voice of reason: "Everything is going according to plan."

---WADE, BOSH, HASLEM OPT OUT---

Heat-Haters: "ZOMG SO UNFAIR HEAT ARE CHEATING!!!"

Voice of reason: "lmao your tears are delicious."

Two terrible franchises looking to make two terrible decisions.

And NetsDaily says that the Mark Jackson reports are not true.
