he was selected the 29th round so its a long shot but then again so was Piazza. Also they say he doesn't throw a cutter yet so if his dad could teach him that, that may be all he needs

Hah I'm pretty sure he started throwing that cutter by accident. Might be hard to teach it to someone

Thats crazy if thats true. I learned how to throw a cutter when I was in little league. If my dad had the best one in the universe you bet your ass Id want to learn it.

They reached big time this year in my opinion. Took a hs kid who is going to wind up in the pen.

Ive heard conflicting reports on him so im unsure on him but I love their 2nd and 3rd picks. They were top 20 guys and got picked at 41 and 50, and they signed both of them yesterday. 2nd pick a SS who will probably move to 3rd with huge power and their 3rd pick had a football and baseball scholarship to Nebraska which is why he slipped to 50 because of signability issues but they got him to sign anyway. Overall im cool with it, hopefully they pan out.

I really dislike their draft. In a draft with alot of quality depth, they chose to reach on a guy in the top half of the first with like you said conflicting reports and chose to take two guys within the 2nd round who are,athletic but arent baseball players. There is a good chance you wind up netting next to nothing from this draft when you could have grabbed 3 guys where you were likely to have atleast 2 pan out. Jacob Gatewood has power but he cant even hit the ball so whats it good for. I dont mind the Monte Harrison pick if you didnt grab those 2 first and actually took established players although im not a believer he becomes solid and makes the majors either.
